序章:国王与巫

楚国,一个信奉火神祝融,崇拜南方朱雀的文明古国。相传每年五月初五,国王与其臣民将举行一个盛大的日神祭祀仪式,到那一天,国王会化身巫师,沟通天地神灵。

Chu, an ancient civilization and kingdom, worshipped the Fire God Zhurong and venerated the Southern Vermilion Bird. It is said that every year, on the fifth day of May of the Chinese lunar calendar, the king and his subjects would hold a sun god ritual. During this ceremony, the king would serve as the shaman, communicating with the spirits. 


天未亮,旷野中击鼓声震耳发聩,众人低头跪伏在地,国王吟唱着祀神巫歌,手执山禽五彩长羽蹁跹起舞愉悦诸神。火焰黑色的浓烟绕着高耸的祭台缓缓上升。

Before dawn, the sound of drums echoed through the wilderness, deafening the ears. People knelt on the ground as the king chanted the shamanic songs, holding colorful feathers from animals and dancing gracefully to please the gods. The thick, swirling black smoke from the fire slowly rose around the towering altar.





一轮巨日从满目红色旌旗的平原上升起,万丈光芒照亮祭台。楚王伫立在天地之间,虔诚地向神灵发出祷告,向未知的世界祭供信仰。
A colossal sun ascended majestically from the plain, adorned with brilliant red banners, its dazzling rays illuminating the altar. The king stood at the threshold between heaven and earth, devoutly offering prayers to the spirits and presenting his faith to the unknown world.

01 项目背景

Background




酒店坐落在湖南湘潭,拥有客房273间,集休闲、娱乐、餐饮、康体、会议等功能于一体,紧邻“三湘第一楼”万楼。湖湘瑰丽的文史记录隐藏在湘潭的湖光山色中,酒店周边被一众人文景点所簇拥,雨湖公园、万楼、盘龙大观园、湘潭市博物馆、窑湾、九华德文化公园等均在半小时车程内。

The hotel, located in Xiangtan, Hunan, offers 273 guest rooms and a wide range of amenities, including leisure, entertainment, dining, fitness, and conference facilities. It is conveniently situated next to "Wanlou," renowned as the "First Building of the Three Xiangs." Surrounded by picturesque lakes and mountains, it provides easy access to various cultural attractions, all within a half-hour drive, such as Yuhu Park, Panlong Grand View Garden, Xiangtan City Museum, Yaowan and Jiuhua Virtue Cultural Park.




湖湘文化的思想渊源传承于周代至春秋战国时期兴起的荆楚文化,酒店的设计灵感来源于荆楚文化中神秘浪漫的的巫风文化。作为巫文化的代表人物,屈原以其“忠贞、求索、浪漫、践道” 的精神铸造了湖湘这片红色大地“如火烈烈”的人文性格和精神底色。

The ideological origins of Huxiang culture can be traced back to the Jingchu culture that emerged during the Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn Period. The design inspiration for the hotel is drawn from the mystical and romantic witchcraft culture within the Jingchu culture. The witchcraft culture, embodied by figures like Qu Yuan, with his spirit of loyalty, exploration, romanticism, and devotion to the Way, has shaped the passionate humanistic character and spiritual essence of the Huxiang region, often described as “fiery and vibrant.”

"The Golden Bough: A Study in Magic and Religion" 


英国人类学家詹姆斯·弗雷泽在书中指出,巫术背后体现的是群体无意识,就是某个群体对于世界的理解和记忆。巫术作为隐性的因素,深刻地植根于人们的思维、审美和其他方面中,成为理所当然的文化因子,被带入后世,进入全部历史。

British anthropologist James Frazer pointed out in his book that witchcraft is an of the collective unconscious, representing a particular group's understanding and memory of the world. Witchcraft, as a latent factor, deeply embeds itself in people's thoughts, aesthetics, and various other aspects, becoming an inherent cultural element that is passed down through generations and woven into the tapestry of history.




酒店大堂延续了楚国宫殿的建筑特征,高堂邃宇,映辉出一个宏大而深沉厚重的楚世界。凝望灯光星星点点地悬在一片无垠中,记忆中历史漫长的时间进程从当下向前向后无尽延展。

The hotel lobby reflects the architectural style of the Chu dynasty palace, with grand, lofty halls that evoke the profound world of Chu. As you gaze at scattered lights in the expansive space, the passage of history stretches endlessly from the present into both the past and future, as remembered.




楚地是神话的沃壤,神秘的巫风孕育与滋养着奇幻的神话,了解荆楚的过程如同阅读了一本浪漫诡谲、深邃浩瀚的《山海经》。
The land of Chu is a fertile ground for mythology, nurturing and nourishing the enigmatic witchcraft culture. The process of understanding Jingchu is akin to reading the romantic, mysterious, and profound "Classic of Mountains and Seas".




格栅的透景构筑出渗透性的空间感,视线在层叠的递进间转化为虚实互补的空灵氛围,形成轻盈、多变的建筑内涵与意境。

The lattice structure creates a transparent framework, giving a sense of permeable space. Sight transforms amidst the layered progressions into an ethereal atmosphere, resulting in a light and versatile architectural essence and ambiance.




在大面积的漆黑色里,赤、黑、黄色与青铜本色相映衬,仿佛在一片黑色的虚空里流动漂浮,如同奇异而华丽的楚漆器,一种饱满而深厚的美学意蕴。

In a vast expanse of pitch-black, the colors of red, black, yellow, and the natural hue of bronze contrast, as if flowing and floating within a black void, resembling the extraordinary and magnificent Chu lacquerware—a rich and profound aesthetic meaning.




于庄严肃穆的仪式感中,凝视局部又兼具了某种深邃神秘的浪漫——一种建立在以直观、想象为特征的“巫”式思想基础上的浪漫情愫。

Amidst a solemn and dignified sense of ceremony, gazing at the details gives rise to another deep and mysterious romanticism—an emotion rooted in the witchcraft style of thinking characterized by intuition and imagination.




巫术将充沛的想象力作为愉神的仪式形成宗教艺术,其带来的感性的愉悦因神性的思考而延伸了自身的强度,而神性思考则因为愉悦形式的规定性而摆脱了枯燥、单调的非感性特质,共同达成了一种感觉的和谐。

Witchcraft harnesses abundant imagination to create a religious art of joyful communion with the divine. The sensual pleasure it brings is strengthened by contemplation of the divine, while the divine contemplation, guided by the structured forms of delight, breaks free from the dry and monotonous non-sensual attributes, ultimately achieving a sense of harmony.




前厅大面积的留白以素净儒雅、均衡冷静的气质平复了巫楚之美中繁丽激情的部分,彼此达到互相渗透且平衡。巫术与宗教共同构成了古代生活美学的共同体,并成为艺术在通学阶段迸发的源泉。

The extensive use of whitespace in the front hall, characterized by simplicity, elegance, and a balanced calmness, tempers the exuberant and passionate aspects of witchcraft Chu beauty, achieving mutual permeation and equilibrium. Witchcraft and religion together constitute a collective essence of ancient aesthetic life and serve as a wellspring for the outburst of art during the period of enlightenment.




现代人在奇幻瑰丽的神话和诗篇中读到楚地浪漫及神秘的幻想,那些嵌在文字与泥土之间寂静的裂缝,它们迟来的回音在许多年之后将我们自睡梦中拧醒。

Modern people encounter the romantic and mysterious fantasies of Chu culture within the fantastical and magnificent myths and poems. Those quiet crevices nestled between words and soil, with their delayed echoes, will awaken us from our slumbers many years later.

 

02 仿佛口属于神,眼睛也应属于神

As if the mouth belongs to God

also should the eyes belong to God



大堂吧以礼乐空间为主题,通过色彩有秩序的量的对比,冲突及互补来达到美的大同,融合曾侯乙编钟的内在序列感和空间节奏感,从而衍生时间与空间的广阔性。

The lobby bar, themed around ritual and music, achieves a harmonious aesthetic through ordered contrasts, conflict, and complementarity in color. It integrates the inner sense of sequence and spatial rhythm found in the Zeng Houyi Bells, thus giving rise to a sense of vastness in both time and space.




沿着时间的逆流追踪,穿越地球的地质历史,穿越古老的海洋和土壤……那一片洪荒的古早时代,大氧化事件的遗产被远古时代山洞里的先民们赋予了形而上的内涵——山顶洞人捡起第一块赤铁矿石凿成粉末,以某种仪式扬洒在人的身上,红色从此象征着生命和鲜血。

Tracing back along the currents of time, traversing the geological history of the Earth, and journeying through ancient oceans and soils... In that primordial era of ancient antiquity, the legacy of the Great Oxygenation Event was endowed with metaphysical meaning by the early cave-dwellers of ancient times. The first piece of hematite, picked up and ground into powder by the Upper Cave Man  in some ritual, was scattered upon their bodies. From then on, red came to symbolize life and blood.




人类自在的风度,渐渐转变为对神的臣服,而他的最高道德准则自然地转变为我对神意志的屈从,甚至认为平安健康都存在于神的意志之中。

Humanity's once carefree demeanor gradually transformed into submission to the divine, and their highest moral principles naturally evolved into obedience to the will of God, even believing that peace and well-being resided within God's will.




古老的仪式穿越千年,巫楚文化融入了秩序井然的礼乐钟鸣,红与黑的美学风格构建出某种幽远深邃、斑斓缤纷而又深沉的哲理感受与愉悦的感官刺激,阴翳、缄默、内敛、温柔也深沉。

Ancient rituals spanning millennia, witchcraft Chu culture melds with the meticulously ordered music of bells. The aesthetic styles of red and black construct a profound, vivid, and deep philosophical experience, along with delightful sensory stimulation, which is generally melancholy, silent, reversed, gentle yet profound.




在流动的历史文化盛宴里,记忆是一场旧物的复苏。青铜的清越古音、楚辞的浪漫鼓点、玉器的温润雅歌、建筑的繁华交响......时间的标本散落在文字、器物、音乐中,回叩远古先民们眼中的世界。

Within the flowing banquet of history and culture, memory is a revival of old treasures. The melodious ancient sounds of bronze, the romantic rhythms of Chu poetry, the gentle and elegant songs of jade artifacts, the splendid symphony of architecture... Specimens of time are scattered throughout texts, artifacts, and music, echoing the world as seen through the eyes of our ancient ancestors.




环境的整体性和建筑序列的有机性如一曲乐章,墙面的几何肌理形成灵巧的符号韵律,在起承转合的形式规律间联动起情绪的宛转悠扬。

The integrated environment and the organic architectural sequences are like a musical movement. Geometric textures on the walls create intricate symbolic rhythms, engaging emotions in the ebb and flow between the structured patterns of development.




巫通过迷幻的状态寻找神谕的旨意,在盘踞缠绕的纹理中得到迷乱却富有象征意味的理解与想象。在神话运思的诗性智慧中,人类的审美活动获得了宏大而深厚的生命活动的本原性根基。

Witches seek divine messages in hallucinatory states, finding a bewildering yet symbolically rich understanding and imagination within the entangled textures. In the poetic wisdom of mythological contemplation, human aesthetic pursuits acquire a grand and profound and foundational basis for life activities.



03 求索是浪漫的核心

The core of romance lies in the pursuit



文化时常是前后相继的,湖湘文化的成型,是中原的儒家文化与本地的楚文化遗存相结合的结果。餐厅高阔而对称的空间形态观照了湖湘文化的存在形式,近代湖湘文化有着激越而又有序、笃实而又灵动、浪漫而又实际的鲜明二元性地域特征。

Culture often unfolds in succession, and the Huxiang culture is the result of the combination of Central Plains Confucian culture and local Chu culture remnants. The restaurant's lofty and symmetrical spatial form reflects Huxiang culture, which in modern times exhibits distinct regional characteristics marked by a passionate yet orderly, steadfast yet dynamic, romantic yet practical duality.




柱子、窗户、地面、镜子,切割成不同形制的格子构建起空间的秩序脉络,埋藏在壁灯里的“天圆地方”,抛出时间循环往复、周而复始的时空感。草木在四季之中轮回复生,时间也仍然从太阳和月亮那里奔落。

Columns, windows, floors, and mirrors, cut into various forms of grids, establish the spatial order and context. The "circular heaven and square earth" concealed within the wall lamps evoke a sense of cyclical and eternal time. Just as plants regenerate through the seasons, time continues to flow with the rise and fall of the sun and the moon.



看树叶斑驳陆离的投影偶尔的晃动,光线滤过纱的柔软,将空间幻化成一个“灵均”的世界,在诗意的无限扩展中,关于湖湘那些绚丽的想象,都在思想的世界里。

In the dappled and occasionally swaying shadows of leaves, with soft light filtering through the curtains, the space transforms into a "spiritual and balanced" world. In the infinite poetic expansion, all those splendid imaginations about Huxiang reside within the realm of philosophy.





湖湘士人并无一般书生的那种柔靡、纤巧之风,他们总是充满着豪迈、刚勇之气,这一特色也反映在了一个个具体的人身上,如毛泽东、齐白石、曾国藩等。

Huxiang scholars do not possess the delicate and refined demeanor commonly associated with scholars. They are often characterized by a bold and courageous spirit, a trait that is also reflected in specific individuals such as Mao Zedong, Qi Baishi, and Zeng Guofan.




镜面的虚与纱的缈,在两种材料的对立与融合间形成浪漫而不确定的情感,情感是诗和艺术的永恒主题,如同生命一般无常,充满期待与惊喜。

The interplay between the reflection of mirrors and the gossamer quality of curtains creates a romantic and subtle emotion, much like emotions themselves, which are eternal themes in poetry and art. Emotions, like life, are impermanent, filled with anticipation and surprises.




味觉记忆是强有力的情感资产,一部湘菜史,半部湘潭写。一道经典菜品剁椒鱼头红遍大江南北,鲜辣浓香的湘潭美食是三湘大地丰饶物产的体现。肥沃的土壤、饱满的稻谷、鲜活的鱼虾、成就了湘潭千百年来“鱼米之乡”的美名。

Taste memories are powerful emotional assets. Half of the history of Hunan cuisine is in Xiangtan. A classic dish like "Chopped Pepper Fish Head" has become famous throughout China for its fresh, spicy, and fragrant flavors, reflecting the abundance of produce in the Three Xiang region. Fertile soil, plump rice grains, and vibrant fish and shrimp have earned Xiangtan the reputation of being the "Land of Fish and Rice" for centuries.




设计通过地方文化历史的持续探索和实践,尝试从情绪氛围的维度重塑地方认同和归属感。似乎沉稳内敛的色调总能与深邃、理性相关联,带有地方文化感的古朴则彰显淡然之下,永远潜藏着一份求索的内核。

Through a continued exploration and practice of local cultural history, the design seeks to reshape local identity and a sense of belonging from the dimension of emotional ambiance. It seems that the subdued and understated color palette is always associated with depth and rationality, while the simplicity imbued with a sense of local culture reveals beneath its tranquility a core of constant exploration.




千年以前资源匮乏的古人面对未知,展开想象,通过同样让人猜不透的神秘介质——巫,以奇幻浪漫对抗未知。屈原以《天问》对无穷远方的浪漫叩问,数千年后的我们正在一一回应。

Millennia ago, when resources were scarce, ancient people faced the unknown with imagination. Through the mysterious 'Wu,' or witchcraft, they fought the unknown with fantasy and romance. Qu Yuan, in his “Questions to Heaven,” raised romantic questions about the boundless beyond, and today, millennia later, we answer them, one by one.



04 生有热烈,藏与俗常

Born with passion, hidden in the ordinary



客房延续了巫楚文化的深邃浪漫,点一盏柔和的灯剥离俗世的纷繁忧扰,在静谧温暖中构建细密的情感联结,缓缓走进一座城市独特的氛围与历史故事中,将短暂的停驻变为永久回忆。

The guest rooms continue the deep romance of witchcraft Chu culture. With a soft lamp, they shed the worldly troubles, building intricate emotional bonds in a serene and warm ambiance. Slowly, one immerses in the city's unique atmosphere and historical tales, turning a brief stay into lasting memories.




床头灯是宫廷花灯的解构,宫灯系列是一种消解的尝试,尝试消解故事,消解过程,消解时间以及消解由时间带来的一切,这些时间将古老的与现代的联系在一起,把漫长的历史进程压缩了起来,留下了古老深厚、朴实宁静的时光痕迹。

The bedside lamp is a deconstruction of palace flower lamps. The Palace Lamp series represents an attempt at dissolution, an endeavor to dissolve stories, processes, time, and everything brought about by time. They connect the ancient and the modern, compressing the lengthy course of history and leaving behind the deep, simple, and tranquil traces of time.




凝结的旧时光缓缓荡漾在空气中,木头的纹路也有了年岁的柔和,时间的流逝变得丰满而浪漫。晨起看见阳光从树杈间倾泄而下,五感的触角渐渐苏醒。

The condensed old times gently ripple in the air, and the wood's grain now carries a softness of age, making the passage of time feel full and romantic. When waking up in the morning and witnessing the sunlight pouring through the branches, the senses gradually awaken.




华夏民族经历了一个延续漫长,且对后世后代影响十分深远的巫术时代。那是文明漫长的幼儿时期,但它构成了文明这座冰山水底之下最庞大的部分,是人类潜意识、潜规则、潜文化的源头。

The Chinese nation has gone through an enduring and profoundly influential era of witchcraft that has left a lasting impact on future generations. It was the early childhood period of civilization, yet it constitutes the bulk beneath the iceberg of civilization, serving as the source of human subconsciousness, unspoken rules, and latent culture.




从文明的主线来看,巫的时代被历史进程中不断出现的新兴时代接替,扬弃。但巫文化炽热的精神内涵已塑造出一个崇火尚赤的民族,潜藏着的巫楚生命力量如同血液之于生命,流淌在如火烈烈的湖湘文化历史中,生生不息。

From the perspective of the thread of civilization, the era of witchcraft was succeeded and abandoned by emerging eras that constantly appeared in the course of history. However, the fervent spiritual essence of witchcraft culture has shaped a nation that venerates fire and red. The latent vitality of Chu-Wu, like blood to life, flows through the vivid history of Huxiang culture, perpetually enduring.
