 中国优质数据新闻账号推荐

国庆长假,给你弯道超车的机会来了!数据新闻(Data Journalism)发源于英美,2011年,搜狐新闻推出数据新闻栏目“数字之道”,开启了国内专业化的数据新闻实践。因此,2011年也常被看作中国大陆的数据新闻元年。根据不完全统计,在2015年时,中国大陆地区即有20余家从事数据新闻生产的机构。

尽管数据新闻发展已历时12年,但在2020年之前,国内数据新闻栏目似乎并没能在公众认知中占领一席之地。2020年对于数据新闻行业是个转折点。这年,疫情使数据成为一种新闻刚需,也促成数据可视化类新闻成为主流媒体的主要报道方式之一,在疫情当下产生现实的影响力。

在疫情的3年后,无论数据新闻热潮是否消减,国内数据新闻从业者、研究者和个人爱好者们对数据新闻的探索继续,以下6个数据新闻栏目为中文数据新闻的一些范例。(推荐难免挂一漏万,欢迎评论补充)

澎湃美数课:图解新闻哪家强,中文媒体看澎湃

“澎湃美数课”为澎湃新闻旗下的数据新闻栏目,于2014年7月上线,专注于数据新闻和解释性报道,产品形式包括信息图、数据图表、交互页面、动画视频、三维动画等,也与澎湃其它条线合作大型沉浸式报道。曾获得中国新闻奖、上海新闻奖、美国新闻设计协会、英国信息之美大赛、亚洲出版协会卓越新闻奖、Sigma数据新闻奖、中国数据内容大赛等奖项。团队内容还负责澎湃新闻姐妹英文刊物Sixth Tone的数据新闻内容。

“澎湃美数课”在内容定位上强调新闻性与公共性,在娱乐性话题中也尝试从有深度、有人文价值、有社会性的角度切入。作为中国数据新闻领军媒体之一,“澎湃美数课”不仅在中国数据新闻中最常见的图解类、动画类有亮眼表现,也在视频和数据的结合上进行了大量尝试,通过网页等形式展现复杂新闻故事的交互可视化也是其未来着力发展的类别。

第一财经 DT商业观察:聊商业,有意思

DT商业观察由创立于2015年6月4日的 “DT财经” 改版而来,为第一财经与阿里巴巴联合推出的数据内容与社群平台,旨在以大数据解读消费与商业图景。一方面,多选取商业链条中更贴近生活的消费端为主要切入口,内容对大众具有较强的可读性。另一方面,在解码消费者心理的基础上,进一步观察现有商业模式的利弊洞察行业趋势,对商业运营的决策也有一定的参考价值。

新浪图数室:背靠微博大树,流量狠狠拿捏

新浪图数室上线于2012年6月4日,前身为 “图解天下”,为新浪新闻旗下的数据可视化栏目。其主要原创栏目为“图数室”以及“图数Pro”。图数Pro的主要探索方向为数据新闻形式的深度报道。除了更长的篇幅和更深入的数据挖掘,图数Pro还尝试了中视频的呈现形式。此外,在微信公众号平台上,图数室还率先尝试了图片消息的发布形式。

在内容流上,图数室具有较强的聚合性。在原创数据新闻之外,在微信公众平台,图数室还转载了相关商业和社会信息,依托母体新浪新闻,图数室微博也即时发布社会热点新闻。

谷雨数据-腾讯新闻:一条60秒,天下全知晓

谷雨数据是腾讯新闻出品的数据新闻栏目,于2018年6月12日推出,聚焦数据新闻,数据报告内容定位年轻化。其数据观察贴近城市年轻人日常生活,“年轻人”成为其新闻标题中高频出现的词语。

谷雨数据官网现有图文、视频、小视频、动态四个专栏。值得注意的是,谷雨数据在2021年底至2022年中旬在“视频”专栏下频繁发布“60秒洞见”,即长度在60秒左右的数据新闻视频,单平台单条视频最高播放量超300万。

Bridge the Information Gap!

Six Quality Data Journalism Accounts in China

In 2011, Sohu News launched a data journalism programme called 'The Way of the Numbers', which opened up the practice of professionalized data journalism in China. The year 2011 is also regarded as the beginning year of data journalism in mainland China. According to incomplete statistics, there were more than 20 organizations engaged in data journalism production in mainland China in 2015.

Despite 12 years of development in China, it seems that the domestic data journalism programmes did not gain a foothold in the public perception, at least before 2020. 2020 is a turning point for China’s data journalism industry, a year when the epidemic has made data a news necessity and contributed to data visualization becoming one of the main reporting means of Chinese mainstream media. Data journalism generated real-world impact at the moment of the epidemic.

Three years after the epidemic, regardless of whether the data journalism craze subsides or not, the exploration of data journalism by Chinese data journalism practitioners, researchers and individual enthusiasts continues. Here are six examples of data journalism programs in China. (There might be other great outlets we are currently not aware of. Free feel to let us know in the comment section!)

839 STUDIO: “Number is bone, design is soul; It’s about journalism and also not about journalism”

839 Studio is the data journalism team at The Paper and its English-language sister publication Sixth Tone. 839 Studio provides data journalism and explanatory reporting in all forms, including infographics, interactive visualization, animation video and 3D animation. 839 Studio has also created immersive video reports with other departments of the Paper. Works of 839 studio have earned China Journalism Awards, Shanghai Journalism Awards, SND Excellence Awards, Information is Beautiful Awards, SOPA Excellence Awards, Sigma Data Journalism Awards, China Data Content Competition Awards and so on.

In terms of content orientation, 839 Studio emphasizes newsworthiness and publicness and also tries to enter into entertainment topics from in-depth, humanistic and social perspectives. As one of the leading media in China's data journalism, 839 Studio not only produces well-designed graphics and animation which are rather common in China's data news, but also makes innovative attempts to combine video and data. The interactive visualization of data reports explaining complex stories is also their future development orientation.

With four major content themes, namely education, health, entertainment and lifestyle, DATA BLOG uses rigorous logic to gain deep insights into social phenomena that audiences care about.

DATA BLOG ensures the speed and quality of its content with a standardized content production process, which has also formed the distinctive characteristics and unified style of the DATA BLOG team, making it a 'trending content maker' among China's data journalism media. According to NetEase Culture & Creativethe representative work of DATA BLOG 'The most hated drink by Chinese people, THIS ranks first' has been read by 1million+ people, and the video has been broadcast by 540 thousand people on BILIBILI and more than 2.21 million people on Weibo.

Yicai DT Business Observation: Using data to measure news, allowing news to flourish

DT Business Observation originated from 'DT Finance', which was established on June 4, 2015. It is a data-driven content and community platform jointly launched by Yicai and Alibaba, aiming to interpret the consumer and business landscape through big data.

On the one hand, it focuses on consumption aspects, which are closer to daily life within the business chain, providing fairly readable content for the general public. On the other hand, by unravelling consumer psychology, it further explores the pros and cons of existing business models and looks into industry trends, providing valuable insights for business decisions.

Wang Xiaoqiao, chief editor of DT Finance, believes that ' (The news industry) also needs to express more rationally in terms of mode and form, and data is a crucial way'. Zhou believes that the “data + media” mode will undoubtedly become an outstanding trend and new direction for the development of financial media.

Sina Pictorial Digital Room: Understanding the world through data

Formerly known as 'Illustrating the World', Sina Pictorial Digital Room was launched on 4 June 2012. It is a data visualization section under Sina News. Its main original sections are 'Pictorial Digital Room' and 'Pictorial Digital Pro'. Pictorial Digital Pro focuses on in-depth reporting in the form of data journalism. In addition to longer articles and deeper data mining, Pictorial Digital Pro also tries to present through medium-length video. In addition, Pictorial Digital Room is one of the pioneers in using image messages on WeChat public platform.

Pictorial Digital Room shows strong polymerization in its content flow. Alongside original data journalism pieces, it publishes relevant business and social information on WeChat public platform. Based on its parent platform Sina News, the studio's Weibo account also posts real-time updates on trending social topics.

Guyu Data — Tencent News

Guyu Data, launched on 12 June 2018, is a data journalism column produced by Tencent News. Its reports focus on data news tailored to the younger generation. Its observation through data is close to the daily life of young urban residents. 'Youth' has become a high-frequency word in its headlines.

The website of Guyu Data currently has four columns: Articles, Videos, Short Videos and Trends. It is worth noting that from the end of 2021 to the middle of 2022, Guyu Data frequently posted '60-second Insights' under the 'Videos' column, which are data news videos of around 60 seconds. Some of these videos received more than 3 million views on a single platform.

Guyu is a non-profit platform established by Tencent to support the creation and dissemination of non-fiction works in China. Focused on in-depth content, Caixin Data News tells the stories of ordinary people. Such content demonstrates delicate humanistic care without losing the logic and rationality unique to digital.


All-dimensional, multi-tiered data reports and their reliable and diverse data sources, constitute two major advantages of Caixin Data News. Caixin Newstrack record of being a finalist and winner of several global data journalism awards further proves the strength of its data storytelling.
