A grid is simply 2D repeating pattern of squares or rectangles. This can be a drawing,

such a grid paper. Or, it can also be a pattern for roads, for example many large US

cities follow a grid pattern where the roads form a grid.

Grating is a type of construction, usually made of metal, that allows for air to pass

through. It usually follows a grid pattern. A common use is industrial walkways:

A lattice is another type of construction, usually made from wood, that has a square

or diamond pattern. They aren't usually rectangle. This type of construction is often

used for fences or yard decoration:

lattice;

grille or grill (French word from Latin craticula, small grill) is an opening of several slits side-by-side in a wall, metal sheet or another barrier, usually to allow air or water to enter and/or leave and prevent larger objects (such as animals) from going in or out.[1]

A similar definition is "a French term for an enclosure in either iron or bronze."[2]

I would say that grille is a type of grating.
A grille is specifically for ventilation, like on cars or windows, while just a grate/grating can also be used as a walkway like I already mentioned (and probably other uses).
Most people would call the grating on a car a grille rather than a grating though, similar to how we prefer to say arm or leg rather than limb even though both are correct and both can be used
without sounding unnatural "Grate" and "grating" are just two words for the same thing
