(1) This information is subject to considerable change at short notice.(2)For further details see ADMIRALTY Sailing Directions NP63 Persian Gulf Pilot, (1)Vessels bound for Umm Qasr or Khawr az Zubayr carrying commercial or humanitarian cargo should contact Umm Qasr Port on VHF Ch 16 or 12 for the latest details concerning navigation in the Khawr ’Abd Allah.(2)Vessels should pass their ETA 48h,24h and 12h prior to arrival and should also report inward-bound and outward-bound when passing buoys No 23 and 24.(2) Military vessels destined for Umm Qasr should coordinate their transit with COMUSNAVCENT.Umm Qasr Port and Khawr az Zubayr Port are managed by the Iraqi Port Authority.

Draft restriction 10.5 Mtrs SW in channel as per IPA Verbal informationAll vessels calling Umm Qasr/Khor Al Zubayr port require pilot for channel passage to berth.The present pilot station is at.Buoy # 5,Co-ordinates :Lat 29-43.7N,Long 048-37.0E.Vessels calling Umm qasr and Khor al Zubayr are waiting on the vicinity closer b/w Buoy No.2 and Buoy No.3.Once Sea pilot boarding is confirmed, then vessel can proceed to the inner channel but normally the meet vessels close to co-ordinates for Pilot boarding lat 29-43.00 N,Long048- 39.30 E Pilotage commences off the entrance to the Shatt-al-Arab waterway, Located at the North End of the Khor Az Zubayr waterway,7 NM Northbound from Umm Qasr Port. Sailing time Anchorage to alongside =5-7 hours one way, about 60 NM.Tidal Flood /EBB currents is about 4-5 Knots.Pilots prefer to take Ship's in a flood.Night navigation is restricted in the channel between Khor Az Zubayr &Umm Qasr Safe draft for B # 08 as per verbal advices : 8.50M for berthing during High tidePilot booking for sailing:Booking of pilot MUST be performed by agents only.In order to sail the vessel, sea pilot and harbor pilot must board the vessel.Sea pilot booking takes 3 hours.No pilot booking fm 2400 to 0500 hrs as per port regulations.The river or sea pilots are controlled by IPA out of Basra and not at Khor al zubayr port.Channel Pilot guide vessel upto KAZ port inner anchorage Harbour Pilot guide vessels upto KAZ berths 
Port Control-Channel 16,14&12Position closer to Buoy 2 near Al Basra Oil Terminal Tidal Range-3.0 to 4.0MPre-arrival questionnaire will be sent to Master in seperate（船长需要注意的提交资料）Master to ensure all Manifest copies available on board to submit State agent upon boarding for distribution to authorities .Before print out 8 copies of cargo manifest, please be sure that cargo manifest is the updated/correct one. The updated manifest must show the following:B/L number, shippers, consignees, notify party, number of packages,weight&CBM.The manifest must show container number and chassis number for vehicles.Old manifest MUST be shredded if any on board and NOT to be shown to state agent to avoid charges of cargo manifest amendment. 
Documents Required upon Berthing(靠泊后提交文件）:8 Copies:Crew List,Cargo Manifest4 Copies,Ship's particulars,Cargo pian,Ship's Cert of Registry,NORHospital Medical certificates.Maritime declaration of health,Bond stores copy (1 copy each).Please insure that yellow flag is being hoisted prior arriving Umm Qasr / Khor Al Zubayr port and to be kept flying until free pratique is granted.FPQ is granted alongside at the moment.As per lraqi ports normal practice, state agent (government agent) is normally attends all vessels. Representative of State agency (State Cofor Maritime Transport-SCMT)is authorized to board and stay onboard and to present tally sheet on daily basis to Chief Mate.
Please ensure that NEW lraqi flag is being hoisted prior to arrive Iraqi ports to avoid PSC fine.The NEW Iraqi flag DOESNT CONTAIN THE THREE GREEN STARS. If you have flag with starts, please remove the stars by painting them with white or you may order a new one.Iragi flag must remain always hoisted at port.Khor Al Zuabyr immigration requires for ORIGINAL last port clearance.Original means hard copy delivered by hand, signed/stamped in blue.Immigration doesn't accept scanned, faxed copy or any electronic clearance that doesn't contain stamp.The number of crewmembers and master name stated in the body of port clearance MUST match the number of crewmembers and master/crew names in the crew list submitted on arrival Khor Al Zubayr Crew change in Suez/Fujairah/Singapore/Durban w/o having a new crew list duly signed by immigration is considered as illegal disembarkation/embarkation of crew as per local immigration regulations.Any crew member signed on MUST have immigrations stamp in his passport from the port of joining.Important: any failure to fulfill above port clearance requirements, immigration will NOT issue sailing documents.
Port, Customs &Immigration Clearance:Customs, lmmigration authorities are available in KAZ Port from 0800-1400 Hrs only.Port Customs,Immigration clearance will be issued only upon completion of vessel and vessel completing later evening will process for clearance during next work hours, as per local regulationsPort State Control(500美元即可搞定，上来就是要钱的）:vessel would be inspected by port state control. Inspectors will inspect all ship's certificate validity, safety appliances,garbage disposal,flag, etc. Vessel might be fined for any deficiency. Vesset might be visited by marine pollution personnel to check for probable pumping of sanitary,bilge, ballast, etc, also to check garbage, dunnage and other materials especially in the gap between ship's side and quay. lf pollution occurred from shore side, vessels in vicinity, labour, Master has to give a proof that an action been taken from vessel side.Vessel might attract PSC onboard, penalty etc..Hatch covers/pontoons（舱盖、二层柜问题）:Port authority charges lqd 50,000 for hatch covers/pontoons per day if shifted on quay.
