【原】精读 | 拉文克劳——小心傲慢自负

Most Ravenclaws simply "know" things based on their instinctive feelings, and if it weren't for Rowena Ravenclaw's intuition, Hogwarts could've been a very different place.

大多数拉文克劳都是凭直觉“知道”事情的，如果不是罗威娜·拉文克劳的直觉，霍格沃茨可能会在一个完全不同的地方。

The thing about Ravenclaws, though, is that they know they are smart, making being judgmental one of their worst house traits. 

不过，拉文克劳的学生们知道自己很聪明，因此爱评头论足是他们在最糟糕的学院特质之一。

Arrogance and unfair judgment can be present in Ravenclaws' traits and needs to be watched for in case it becomes too much.

Ravenclaw's confidence in their own cleverness, and the general deification of book wisdom, meant that Ravenclaw were actually missing out on a lot.

Generally speaking, Ravenclaws are pretty closed off to ideas that go against their own logical ones.  They are also pretty ignorant of others, more interested in themselves and their circles.  

一般来说，拉文克劳对违背自己逻辑的想法是相当排斥的。他们对别人也相当不了解，对自己和自己的圈子更感兴趣。

Since Ravenclaws know that they are the most intelligent and wise house, it's not uncommon for many to come off as self-important.

因为拉文克劳知道他们是最聪明和具有智慧的学院，所以很多人都表现得很自负。

It's clear that this would go to anyone's head, but the Ravenclaw trait of being self-important is portrayed most poignantly through the character of Gilderoy Lockhart.  While Lockhart certainly portrayed a more Slytherin-esque ambition, one must not forget that he was sorted into Ravenclaw, and the sorting hat doesn't make mistakes.

拉文克劳自高自大的特点在吉德罗·洛哈特这个角色身上得到了最深刻的体现。虽然洛哈特描绘的野心无疑更像斯莱特林，但别忘了，他是被分到拉文克劳的，而分院帽不会出错。

  此处意为 adv. 深刻地；
  
  
  除此之外还有 adv. 辛辣地；令人辛酸地；等含义，例：Most poignantly, just three weeks before she died of an overdose at the age of 36, she says she felt that 'life begins at 40'.   最令人辛酸的是，就在她死前3周，她还觉得“人生40岁才开始”。梦露死时年仅36岁。
