Itisfamousforitsbeautyandquietness.Boundlessluxuriantfo
restandgreentreesineveryseasonlookliketheoutlineofac
ity,soitiscalledQingcheng.LeshanGiantBuddhaLocatedon
thecliffintheLingyunMountainontheeasternbankatthecon
fluenceoftheMin-jiang,theDaduRiverandtheQingyiRiver,th
estatueis71metershigh.Itsshouldersare28metersbroadand
itsheadis14.7meterslongand10metersbroad.Itisthebigg
estofsuchcarvingsintheworld.Theconstructionstartedinth
eTangDynastyandlasted90years.Thereisawell-designeddr
ainagesystemunderthestatue.Ithasbeenwellpreservedforov
er1200years.EmeiMountainEmeiMountain,locatedinthesout
heastmarginofSichuanBasin,isoneofthefourmostsacredBud
dhistsites.Itis156kilometersfromChengducity,1.5hours’c
arrunthroughhighway.Itisblessedwithaseaofclouds,pictu
