英语前置形容词的顺序排列

当两个以上形容词修饰一个名词时，形容词该如何排列？为何不能说ablacknewcoat呢？而要说成anewblackcoat呢？这里面有没有规律可循？



如果让学生记住opshacom这个为帮助记忆而杜撰的词，就能让他们掌握前置形容词的顺序排列。opshacom中的op代表opinion指表示人们观点的形容词，如：beautiful,lovely,nice,horrible等；shape指表示形状的形容词，如：longshort,round.wide等；a代表age指表示年龄，时代的形容词，如；old,new,young等；c代表颜色，指表示颜色的形容词，如：white,yellow,brown等;o代表origin,指表示国籍，地区的形容词，如：America,Australia,Japanese等;m代表material,指表示材料的形容词，如：plastic,matel,wooden等。英语中这6类形容词连用时就按照上述先后顺序排列，如：anicelongnewblackBritishblasticpen.当然，实际语言使用中出现这么多形容词的时候很少见。
