Lastsummervacation,Iwenttoearnmoneybyworkingasanassistantinthetrainingschool,whichwasmyfirstjobfrommybirthin1994.Unlikelifeinuniversity,thereweremorecompetitionsintrainingschool.Underthiscircumstance,Iwaslikelytolearnmorecomparedwithlearninginuniversity.Ilearnedhowtogetalongwellwithcolleagues,howtotalkdecentlywithparentsofmystudentsandhowtoteachstudentsproperly.Aftertheexperiencethere,Ithoughtthavegrownupandbecomemorematurethaneverbefore.
Itwasnoteasytogetthejob.Atfirst,therewasasimpleinterviewwhichtestedspokenEnglish.Mercifully,thoughIdidperformaswellassomebrilliantinterviewees,Igotthechancetopassthroughtheinterviewandenteredatrainingcourseheldbytheschoolwhichonlylastedfourdays,fourtiringandexhaustingdays.Alotofinformationandruleswereinstilledinme,andIhadtodigesttheminthesefourdays.Itwasreallyahardtime.Fortunately,Ipassedthelastexamandbecameanassistantsuccessfully.Pitifully,somestudentswhodidawonderfulperformanceintheinterviewdidnothavethechancetobeanassistantatlast,whichremindedmeofafamoussaying:hewholaughslast,laughsbest.Thatwas,somethingaccidentalmayhappenintheroadwhichleadedtosuccessandwalkingwellinonepartdidnotmeanthatyoucouldwalkwellallthetime.Therefore,whatisofvitalsignificanceisthatwemustbemodestandconsiderable.
ItwaseighteendaysaltogetherthatIworkedforthetrainingschool,whichwasmuchharderthandaysintrainingcourse.Ihadtogivemywholeattentiontotheworkform8:00amto18:00pm.ThatwastosaythatIhadtowork10hourseveryday,exceptforpreparationatnight.Irememberedthateverydaymymothergotupatabout6:00am,cookingbreakfastandbuyinggrocery,afterwhichsheneededtowashclothesandthenwenttowork.Andshecamehomearound20:00pm.IdoubtedwhethershewouldfeeltiredandsadwhenmybrotherandImisunderstoodherandshowedourangertoher.IhaveregrettedthatIdidnotrespecther,alwayslosingcontrolofmytemperandshoutingather.SinceIknewhowhecticmymotherwas,Ihavepaidmoreattentiontoherandcomfortedwhenshefeelsunhappy.Inaddition,Ialsolearnedthatbeingateacherwasnoteasy.Mrs.Xuwasagoodteacherundoubtedly.IknewnothingthefirstIworkedhere.Shetoldmehowtobeaqualifiedteacher.Withherhelp,Igraduallylearnedthatcare,loveandsenseofresponsibilityarethereessentialthingsthatagoodteachershouldhave.
IhadlearnedalotineighteendayswhileIhadlearnedlittleinuniversitylife.Becauseexperienceisthebestteacher,wecollegestudentsshouldnotjuststayatdormitorywatchingmoviesandplayingcomputergames.Moreextracurricularactivitiesshouldbetaken;therefore,wecanannealourselvesandimproveourabilities.
