TM-650,Method2.1.1.Thelongdimensionofthespecimen
shallbeintheplaneofexamination.Specimensmaybe
gangedinaccordancewiththesamplingprocedure.
5.2EvaluationExaminetheentirelengthofthespecimen.
Determineandrecordtheminimumandmaximumthickness
ofeachspecimentothenearest0.0025mm[0.0001in]using
100XmagnificationandinaccordancewithFigures1or2,in
accordancewiththeapplicablespecification.Unlessother-
wisespecified,Figure2shallbeused.Anyrefereemeasure-
mentsshallbemadeat200Xmagnifications.
5.3ReportReporttheminimumandmaximumreadings
foundfromeachspecimeninspected,andwhethertheParal-
lel(Figure1)orRadius(Figure2)Methodwasused.
6.0NotesCross-sectionalthicknessrelatestotheeffective
electricalinsulationthicknessandwillusuallybelessthanthat
foundbymechanicalmeans(seeIPC-TM-650,method
2.2.18).Fordeterminationofthelaminate’scontributionto
