theLEDlensplasticencapsulationmaterialisexposedtoincreasesordecreasesintheRelativeHumidityof
thesurroundingenvironment.SuchdamagemayincludedelaminationbetweenthedieandtheLEDlens
plasticencapsulationmaterial,whichmayresultinopenconnectionsduetobrokenwirebonds.Moisturein
thepackagehavingreachedacriticallevelwillfracturethepackageinordertoescapewhenexposedtopeak
temperatureconditions,typicalinsolderingpractices.Therefore,thecontrolofmoisturelevelsintheLED
packageiscriticaltoreducetheriskofmoisture-inducedfailures.PleasefollowJEDEC-STD-033Astandards
forhandlingmoisturesensitivedevices.
Uponreceipt,thebagsshouldbeinspectedfordamagetoensurethatthebag’sintegrityhasbeen
maintained.Inspectionshouldverifythattherearenoholes,gouges,tears,orpuncturesofanykindthatmay
exposethecontentsofthebag.
Toopenthebag,simplycutacrossthetopofthebagasclosetotheoriginalsealaspossiblebeingcareful
nottodamagethecontents.Onceopenthedesiredquantityofunitsshouldberemovedandthebagresealed.
Ifthebagisleftopenlongerthan2hours,thedesiccantpouchshouldbereplacedwithadrydesiccantandthe
bagshouldbesealedimmediatelytoavoidmoisturedamage.

Unityincludesadesiccantpouchineachbag.Testingconfirmsthatthedesiccantpouchgreatlyreducesthe
