FrancisChitsikeisalecturerinCadastralSurveyingandLandLawintheDepartmentof
SurveyingandGeomaticsattheMidlandsStateUniversityinGweru,Zimbabwe.
Aftercompletingafour-yeardegreecourseinLandSurveyingattheUniversityof
Zimbabwe,hejoinedtheDepartmentoftheSurveyor-GeneralundertheMinistryofLands,
AgricultureandRuralResettlementin1992.Hethenrosethroughtherankstobecome
AssistantDirectorresponsibleforCadastralSurveysin1997,apositionhehelduntil2002
beforeleavingtheSurveyor-General’sDepartmenttojointheMidlandsStateUniversity.
DuringhistenurewiththeSurveyor-General’sDepartmenthemanagedtostudyandsitfor
professionalexaminationsinCadastralSurveyingin1995.InthisrespectisaRegistered
LandSurveyorwiththeCouncilofLandSurveyorsofZimbabwe.Healsoholdscertificates
in“DevelopmentandManagementofCadastralandLandInformationSystems”and
“StrategicPlanningandLeadershipforMappingandLandInformationOrganizations”both
fromSWEDESURVEY.
FrancisChitsikeisamemberoftheSurveyInstituteofZimbabwe,CouncilofLand
