Abstract:Crop3-dimensional(3D)reconstructionisoneofthemostfundamentaltechniquesincropphenomics,andisanim‐
portanttooltoaccuratelydescribetheholographicstructureofcropmorphology.3Dreconstructionmodelsofcropsareimpor‐
tantforhigh-throughputcropphenotypeacquisition,cropplantcharacteristicsevaluation,andplantstructureandphenotypecor‐
relationanalysis.Inordertopromoteandpopularizethe3Dreconstructiontechnologyincropphenotyperesearch,thebasic
methodsandapplicationcharacteristics,thecurrentadvancesofresearchandtheprospectsof3Dreconstructionincropswere
reviewinthispaper.Firstly,theexistingmethodsofcrop3Dreconstructionweresummarized,thebasicprinciplesofeachmeth‐
odwerereviewed,thecharacteristics,advantagesanddisadvantagesofeachmethodwereanalyzed,theapplicabilityofeach
methodonthebasisofthegeneralprocessofcrop3Dreconstructionmethodswereintroduced,andthespecificprocessandcon‐
siderationsfortheimplementationofeachmethodweresummarized.Secondly,theapplicationofcrop3Dreconstructionwere
dividedintothreeparts:singlecropreconstruction,fieldgroupreconstructionandrootsystem,accordingtodifferenttargetob‐
jects,andtheapplicationsofcrop3Dreconstructiontechnologyfromthesethreeperspectiveswerereviewed,theresearchad‐
vancesofeachmethodfordifferentcrop3Dreconstructionbasedonaccuracy,speedandcostwereexplored,andtheproblems
andchallengesofcrop3Dreconstructioninthecontextofdifferentreconstructionobjectswereorganized.Finally,theprospects
ofcrop3Dreconstructiontechnologywereanalyzed.
