Performance Evaluation on ME engine
Estimated engine load
? It is necessary to keep the estimated engine load on MOP same as the engine load on PMI system/Shaft
Power Meter. The tolerance is within +/- 2%.
? Mismatch between internal and external load estimation can give rise to a wide range of problems.
Including, but not limited to, too restrictive fuel index limiters, wrong cylinder pressure and wrong cylinder
lube oil usage.

? Keep Pmax, Pcomp deviation between cylinders within +/- 3 bar
? Keep Pi deivation between cylinders within +/-0.5 bar (+/-0.7 bar for the performance measurement in bad
weather)
? Pmax is adjusted by changing fuel injection timing.
? Pcomp is adjusted by changing exhaust valve closing timing on ME engine.
? Pi is adjusted by changing fuel index (amount).

Performance Evaluation on ME engine
Summary
? Estimated engine load on MOP and PMI system should be same within +/-2%
deviation as it is key value to calculate others, e.g. fuel index limit, timing, cylinder
oil feedrate.
? Pmax, Pcomp deviation should be within +/-3 bar.
? Pi deviation should be within +/-0.5 bar.
? Pressure rise Pmax-Pcomp should be within 35 bar or 40 bar. Necessary
pressure rise should be checked on the manual in real life.
? Target value of average Pmax and Pcomp is shown on MOP screen.
? It is usually not necessary to adjust Pcomp. Check mechanical parts first if
deviation is too high.
? Do not adjust Pi (fuel index) due to exhaust gas deviation.
? Mechanical defects cannot be compensated by performance adjustment on MOP.
? Read service letter SL2016-621, SL2014-590.
? Use performance adjustment guide in USB.
