重要注意事项

感谢 您选购 厦门蓝海环科仪器有限公司的产品。在使用本产品前,请先阅读本说明手册,

并严格按照说明进行安装和操作,否则本公司将不提供无偿维护。

本公司所生产的所有 15ppm 舱底水报警装置,在出厂前都按照 IMO 的相关要求在工厂内

进行严格的检测和试验。

收到产品后请务必先检查,如因运输引起 故障的仪器应在 30 天内退回到我们的工厂,以

便我们提供更换装置的服务。否则,贵司要承担整个服务更换装置的所有费用。

产品在出厂时附有精度说明书,请妥善保管。 根据 MEPC.107(49) 4.2.11, 该装置应由制

造商或制造商授权人在 IOPP 证书换证检验时予以核查。也可用经校验的 15ppm 舱底水报警

装置替换。 BO-E08 基于此设计,它只需要更换测量室,而主测量装置依旧可以保留在船上执

行该标准。 当产品需要校正核查时,产品的校正人员必须是我公司的技能认定者,按照 IMO

的要求 进行校正,校正完成后,根据 MEPC.107(49)的要求应记录装置校正的时间, 证明上次

校验检定日期的校验证书,应保留在船上以备检查 。

但由于某种原因需要更换装置的主机时,请将原装置主机上配的记录存储卡保留在船上,

以确保 储存卡在船上至少能保持 18 个月有用期限。新的测量装置 带有配套的 记录储存卡。原

卡在新的主测量装置里 只能读出 而不能写入。

质量保证

购入本公司的产品后, 安装和 维护 必须由专业的技术人员来操作。 若 因 制造 原因产生的故

障,本公司将提供 12 个月的无偿维护。但下列情况不属于无偿维护范围:

? 客户没有 按照 该手册说 明进行安装和操作,或由于 客户的误操作, 自行 改造 、 修理

等出现的故障。

? 不可抗力引起的故障

? 指定外的电源、连接、安装场所带来的故障

? 超负荷使用产生的故障

? 为了维护 IMO 性能,在未经本公司允许的情况下打开封条



? 在冰冻的情况下,请 勿 使用 本 装置,同时应排空测量室里的样品水,以免

玻璃管破裂

1. 产品概述

BO-E08 型 15ppm 舱底水报警装置是根据国际海事组织 IMO 强化 对海洋污染的防治,按

照 MEPC.107( 49)决议要求的基础上设计而成,采用光学测量 原理 ,一般与 15ppm 舱底水

分离器配合使用,共同监控舱底水的处理和排放, 以保护 海洋环境。本仪器也可用于化工、

冶金、石油、水处理厂及环保领域对污水中的油份测量和监控。

本装置技术性能符合 IMO MEPC.107( 49)决议和中国船级社型式认可标准等规定,是

值得信赖的 15ppm 报警装置。

2. 仪器特点

2.1 主要特点

1) 采用最先进的光学测量原理,只对油浓度测量而不受活性剂成分的影响;

2) 根据 MEPC.107(49) 4.2.11,主机与测量室 分开的独特设计思路,可方便地更换测量

室,而装置的主机仍可以留在船上运行执行该标准;

3) 测量室维护和清洗方便,打开清洗盖,便可手动清洗;

4) 具有自动冲洗功能,通过界面菜单操作即可将受污染的检测口清洗干净;

5) 大屏幕液晶( LCD)显示,中英文可选界面,人性化菜单式界面,操作简单;

6) 配备了 REC 端口,输出电流 4-20mA 可选择,用于远距离监控;

7) 体积小,结构合理,安装和维护方便;

8) 产品具有模拟检测的功能,便于现场的安装调试。

3) 仪器具有系统自 检功能和故障自动报警;

4) 两路独立的报警输出,报警延迟时间独立可调节;

5) 具有工作状态监控功能,仪器在断电、预热、故障、维修、清洗或更换时可自动控制

超标污水的排放。

3. 测量原理

测量方法采用国际 上通用的折射光测量法。 15ppm 舱底水分离器处理后的排放水样进入

该 15ppm 舱底水报警装置的测量室单元。一组位于不同位置光学传感器通过检测经过油滴分

子影响产生的透射光和散射光的信号,经过微处理器的采集和处理,计算出水样中的含油量,

送主机系统并在液晶面板上显示。

15ppm 舱底水报警装置装有两个独立的循环报警点,根据 MEPC.107(49)决议的要求,

出厂时两个报警点都被默认设定为 15ppm。报警点值也可根据用户的需要设定 1~ 15ppm 范

围内,但是不允许被设定 15ppm 以上。如果排放水中的油浓度超过设定的报警 点值,报警指

示灯会立即亮红灯,若在设定的延迟时间内一直超浓度报警,则相应的继电器将动作,阻止

超浓度水向舱外排放。延时时间是为了防止一些误报警,避免电磁阀频繁动作,延长电磁阀

的使用寿命。使用该装置需要调整报警点的延时时间时,建议用户报警点 2 设定值应小于报

警点 1 的设定值。

15ppm 舱底水报警装置可以记录日期、时间和报警状态以及 15ppm 舱底水分离器的运行

状态、装置的启动时间等数据。数据可以保留至少 18 个月,并具有可查询和打印功能。在更

换 15ppm舱底水报警装置时 , 原记录的数据卡应保存在船上 , 确保数据保留 18个 月。当 15ppm

舱底水分离器运行工作时,装置的主机面板指示灯 status 亮绿灯;而停止运行时,该灯不亮。

根据 MEPC.107(49)决议的要求,为防备蓄意操控 15ppm 舱底水报警装置,仪器外部设

有保护装置(人为打开主机时即自动报警,水样回到船底舱)。仪器内部设有封条,防止人为

拆装。

根据 IMO MEPC.107( 49)决议的要求,仪器一旦出现故障、清洗或断水状态时,报警

指示灯亮,相关的报警继电器将动作,样品水只能回流到船底舱。仪器断电时,报警 1

( ALARM1)和报警 2( ALARM2)的继电器触点处于报警状 态,以防止超浓度油水排放;当

通电工作时,继电器触点处于正常状态,经本装置检测超过排放标准的油污水由受控的电磁

阀控制排放。

4. 产品的部位标识

BO-E08 15ppm 舱底水报警装置主要由主机单元,测量室单元和三通电磁阀三个主要部

件组成。各部件具体标识如图 1 所示,其中:

主机单元包括控制面板,内装有带液晶显示和读取数据卡的电路板,用于打印数据的打

印机,以及带有与外部接线用的接线端子电路板。

测量室单元内装有测量传感器,测量数据通过通讯电缆与主机连接,测量室上还有一个

装有干燥剂的干燥筒,和带有出水口的不锈钢件。

三通电磁阀带有清水入口和样品水入口,用于控制清水和样品水通道的选择,以及零点

自动调节时通道的切换。

5. 安装 说明

依据 IMO 规则 6.2.1,本装置与 15ppm 舱底水分离器之间的响应时间应 在 20 秒以内,

为了避免反应慢,本装置在安装时应尽量靠近 15ppm 舱底水分离器。仪器的安装尺寸如图 2

所示。

5.1 仪器安装

用 6×M8 的螺栓把 BO-E08 15ppm 舱底水报警装置固定在钢性的垂直平面上,安装高度

应与主检测装置的显示屏幕处在人眼平视线上 为 好。为了便于维修和保养,安装时应给装置

的四周留有适当的空间。

5.2 管路连接

15ppm 舱底水报警装置与油水分离器出水口取样采集点的管道连接建议使用 Φ8×1mm

的紫铜管或者不锈钢管。取样点应考虑选择在分 离器排放管的垂直方向上,以减少样品水中

所夹带的空气。油水分离器的出水口应高于 15ppm 舱底水报警装置的排水口,以保证测量室

中的玻璃管内水样一直处于充满状态。管路连接图如图 3 所示。

5.3 电气连接

15ppm 舱底水报警装置主机箱体底部有 5 个的填料函,一个和测量室连接的通信电缆,

一个用于控制三通电磁阀的电缆。仪器的接线示意图如图 4 所示。

6. 系统安装检查

在安装好仪器 、 管道连接和电气接线后,请按进行以下项目进行逐一检查测试:

6.1 电气检查

(1) 检查系统接地端是否可靠接地;

(2) 检查连接到接线端子 1、 2 上电源范围是否为 AC 100-240V, 50-60Hz;

(3) 根据 IMO MEPC.107( 49)要求,检查报警系统的接线是否符合 要求 。

6.2 管道检查

(1) 接通清水;

(2) 调节菜单按钮进入清洗功能,建议清洗时间 为 300 秒;

(3) 检查所有的管道连接处是否漏水;

(4) 如果管道正常,观察测量室单元的出水 处 有无明显的气泡,如有气泡,应找出并排

除产生气泡的原因。

6.3 流量检查

如果仪器管道正常,此时可以向仪器通入一点时间的清水,观察仪器测量室单元的出水口

的水流量,应在 0.1-4L/min 范围之内,如果 不在该范围,则需要通过调整流量调节旋盖上的

小螺丝来调整流量,具体参考 第 8 章维护与保养 的流量调节 部分 。

清水和样品水的流量都要检查,如果清水压力较高,必须在接清水的管路的合适位置加接

一个分流装置。

6.4 功能测试

按以下步骤依次操作,如各项相符,可判断 仪器测量正常 。

1) 无水通电时显示 “ EE” ,报警灯 1、 2 都亮;

2) 给仪器通清水(通过菜单设置进入清洗功能),屏幕上显示的油浓度值应在 “ 0- 2ppm”

之间,报警灯 1、 2 都亮红灯,同时继电器动作;返回正常运行,通样品水,仪器显示

实时油浓度值;

3) 给仪器通样品水,按 TEST 键,使仪器进入模拟测试模式,显示 “ 15ppm” ,报警灯 1、

2 都亮红灯,同时继电器进行相应的动作。可通过按 ▲ ▼键来调节模拟浓度值,范围

为 0~49ppm(当浓度 超过 49ppm 时实际显示 “EE”)。具体请参考 7.4 节的 “ 测试模式 ” 。

7. 仪器工作说明

7.1 上电自检

接 通电源,打开电源开关,仪器面板的电源指示灯亮,显示欢迎 界面。













等待几秒后,仪器进入自检状态。















仪器的自检项目为:内存,打印机,存储卡,连接。如果检查通过,则显示 “ 正常 ” ,否

则显示 “ 错误 ” 。













如果连接错误,请按提示检查仪器,然后重新给仪器上电。

自检完成后, 进入时间设置界面。仪器长时间未使用需对时间进行校正。按 ? ?键选择

要修改的时间项,用 ▲ ▼键修改数值,长按 ▲ ▼键可以快速加 /减。修改完毕按 OK 键保存。

若无需修改,则按 MENU 键退出。

若 30 秒内未完 成时间设置,系统自动退出并进入主监测模式。











7.2 监测模式

仪器进入主监测模式 , 显示当前的日期和时间,以及实测的 ppm 值。面板的 Alarm1、

Alarm2 报警指示灯指示当前的 报警状态。如果水样的油份含浓度超过设定值,相应的报警指

示灯亮, 若 在延时一定时间(在系统设置中设定)内一直处于超浓度报警, 则报警 继电器 产

生 动作。













如果 数据 存储卡不是本机 配套 的卡,则在下方状态栏提示 “ 存储卡只读 ” ,此时系统为只

读状态,不记录数据 , 可以进行数据查询及打印 ;如果没有存储卡或者存储卡没插好,状态

栏会提示 “ 请检 查存储卡 ” ,此时系统既不能记录数据,也无法进行数据查询和打印,同时按

照 IMO MEPC.107(49)的要求, 装置将 进入报警状态 。

每屏显示 4 项,按 ▲ ▼键选择需要的功能,菜单会自动翻页显示,按 OK 键进入相应的

功能选项。各功能选项具体设置操作如下:

1. 系统设置

在 “ 系统设置 ” 菜单中,可以对仪器的各项参数进行设置。





















“ 报警 1” 的默认值为 15ppm,可设定范围为 1~ 15ppm; “ 延 时 1” 为 “ 报警 1” 的延

时时间 , 默认值为 5 秒 ,可设定范围为 1~ 200 秒 ; “ 报警 2” 的默认值为 15ppm,可设定范

围为 1~ 15ppm; “ 延 时 2” 为 “ 报警 2” 的延时时间,默认值为 10 秒,可设定范围为 1~ 10

秒; “ 零点 ” 的默认值为 0ppm,按 OK 键可进入修改,可设定范围为 -5~ +5ppm。 “ 输出 ” 默

认为 4 - 20 mA,可切换为 0-20 mA。

按 ? ? 键选择要修改的参数项,用 ▲ ▼键对选定的参数加 /减 1,长按 ▲ ▼键可以快

速加 /减。修改完 毕后按 OK 键保存修改,按 MENU 键则取消本次修改,系统返回上一级菜单。

选择 “ 默认值 ” 时,按下 OK 键,则所有参数回到默认设置。

2. 时间设置

进入 “ 时间设置 ” 菜单,可以对仪器的日期和时间进行修改校准。















按 ? ? 键选择要修改的时间项,用 ▲ ▼键修改数值,长按 ▲ ▼键可以快速加 /减。修

改完毕按 OK 键保存,按 MENU 键则取消修改,系统返回上一级菜单。

3. 数据查询

在 “ 数据查询 ” 中,可以查询以前的数据记录。 BO-E08 内置大容量的 数据 存储卡,至少

可以保存 18 个月的数据记录。

进入 “ 数据查询 ” 后,系统自动 显示最近的数据记录。显示内容为日期时间、浓度值、

报警状态以及分离器状态。

此时按 ? ?键可以选择上一条 /下一条记录;到达第一条或者最后一条记录时,数据记录

会自动循环显示。

“ 数据查询 ” 还支持按时间查询的方式。在 “ 数据查询 ” 界面下,按 OK 键即可设置要

查询数据的时间,用 ▲ ▼ ? ?来修改相应的时间项,设置好后再按下 OK 键系统会搜寻并

显示最接近该时间的数据记录,按 MENU 键则取消查询。

在“数据查询”界面,按 PRINT 键可以打印当前查询的数据记录。



















4. 仪器清洗

选择 “ 仪器清洗 ” 菜单后,可以对 测量室单元的玻璃管进行清洗。清洗之前先要设置清

洗的时间,设置范围为 10~ 300 秒,按下 OK 键系统开始倒计时,并进行清洗,按 MENU 键

则取消清洗并返回上级菜单。仪器在清洗期间,按照 IMO MEPC.107(49)标准中 4.2.10,仪

器将启动警报,此时报警指示灯亮红灯,同时相应的继电器动作。

















在清洗期间,所有的按键都是无效的。清洗完成后,系统自动回到上级菜单。

5. 背光控制

“ 背光控制 ” 菜单可以对 LCD 显示屏的背光进行开关控制。















按 ? ?键选择打开 /关闭, OK 键执行功能, MENU 键取消并返回上级菜单。

6. 产品信息

“产品信息”菜单 显示产品的信息及 联系方式 。按 ? ?键可以切换 显示信息, 按 OK 键

或 MENU 键退出并返回上级菜单。













7. 中英文切换

按下 OK 键则可在中文和英文之间切换,打印出来的数据记录和当前语言设置一致。

7.4 测试模式

在 主监测模式 下 ,按 TEST 键则进入模拟测试模式,此时 在屏幕 界面 左边显示“ 测试 ”,

同时 系统会记录 该状态 。















按 ▲ ▼键可调节模拟浓度值,范围为 0~ 49ppm( 若超过 49ppm 时实际显示 “ EE” ),

同时继电器进行相应的动作。再 次按下 TEST 键则退出测试模式,返回主监测模式。

7.5 打印模式

在主监测模式下,按 PRINT 键则进入打印模式。系统默认的打印模式为: 9600bps, 1

位起始位, 8 位数据位, 1 位结束位,无校验。打印机的具体设置请参照打印机说明书。出厂

时打印机已经设置好系统要求的正确模式,打印功能正常时用户无需修改该设置。

打印模式下有 2 种打印方式:时间范围打印,最近记录打印。















1. 时间范围打印

根据输入的时间范围打印出相应的数据记录。按 ▲ ▼ ? ? 键来设置起始时间和结束时间。

系统每打印 50 条记录,自动暂停下来,询问用户是否继续打印,此时按 OK 键继续打印,

按其他键则放弃打印,返回上级选项。













2. 最近记录打印

打印最近的几条数据记录。数据记录的条数用 ▲ ▼ 键来设置,可以打印 1~ 200 条的最

近记录。按 OK 键开始打印, MENU 键取消打印并返回上级选项。













8. 维护与保养

1) 流量调节: 如果仪器水样出口无水样流出,应先停机。通过流量调节器来调节流量,

调节器按顺时针旋 1/4 圈,出水量相应减少;相反,按逆时针旋 1/4 圈出水量相应增

加(不能逆时针旋太多,应保证不渗水为限)。调节 器下端三个出水孔,若出水量达

不到要求,可旋出螺丝或封闭一至二个出水孔来调节流量(如下图所示)。

2) 仪器清洗: 若仪器已使用约 1000 小时,须检查测量室玻璃管是否被污染,并进行

清洗:打开测量室顶盖上的流量调节盖,将清洗刷插入测量室,上下来回洗刷几次,

旋下调节器并通上清水,让仪器通清水运行一段时间;观察仪器是否显示 “0~ 2ppm”,

否则应重新清洗。取出清洗刷,将流量调节器旋上。

3) 零点调节: 若仪器通过清水时显示不为零,则需要进行 零点调节:按面版上的

“MENU”键,进入 “Offset ”子菜单,通过 “▲ ▼”相应的值来调整,使仪器显示 0ppm。

4) 干燥剂筒更换: 干燥剂筒保证测量室的湿度在 40%以下,以确保测量精度和保护

呈粉红色,应更换干燥剂筒:拧松密封螺帽,取出干燥剂筒,更换新的干燥剂筒。

5) 打印纸卷更换:

? 如图 6 所示,箭头位置轻轻 扣出旋转扳手,扣出后如图 7 所示。

? 继续旋转扳手,使打印头走纸轴跳出打印头,如图 8;

? 这时打印头走纸轴与打印头分离,轻轻拉开纸仓盖,如图 8;

? 把打印纸装入,并拉出一截(超出一点撕纸牙齿),注意把纸放整齐,同时注意纸的

方向(纸拉出后纸卷外侧面对着 打印头);

? 合上纸仓盖,打印头走纸轴压齐打印纸后稍用力把打印头走纸轴压回打印头,并把

旋转扳手推入复位,如图 6;

? 接通打印机的电源,按 SEL(上)键使 SEL 指示灯灭,然后再按 LF(下)键使机

头转动,这时看一下纸是否走歪,再 按一下 SEL 键,或关上电源。

10. 运输、贮存

1、 在包装运输前应将管路及测量室内的水排干,在包装完 好 条件下允许用一般交通工具运

输,但须防止受到冲击、雨淋、日晒 ;

2、 长期保管时,仪器应存放在环境温度为 0~ 30℃ ,相对湿度小于 80%,空气中不含有

腐蚀性气体的场所,应尽量避免阳光直照和灰尘多的场所。

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Thank you for your purchase of products of Xiamen Blue Ocean Science Instrument Co., Ltd.

Before using this product, make sure you read the instruction manual, install and operate the equipment

in strict accordance with the instructions contained in this manual. Failure to do so will impair the

maintenance provided.

All 15ppm Bilge Alarm in our range are inspected and tested to the related I.M.O. requirements at

our factory prior to delivery.

Make sure to check the product carefully after receiving it. The defective instrument due to

transportation should be returned to our factory within 30 days of supplying the service exchange unit so

that we can provide the service of device replacement to you. Otherwise the purchaser shall bear the

whole cost of device replacement.

Keep the accuracy instruction manual accompanied with the product. According to the MEPC.107 (49)

4.2.11 the unit has to be checked at IOPP Certificate renewal survey by the manufacturer or persons authorized

by the manufacturer. Alternatively the unit may be replaced by a calibrated 15ppm Bilge Alarm. The BO-E08

is designed in that way, that only the measuring cell needs to be changed, as this unit carry the calibration

onboard. When the unit needs to be calibrated, it must be undertaken by a competent and suitable skilled person

recognized by manufacturer in accordance with the I.M.O. requirements. After the calibration, make sure to

record the time of the calibration according to the MEPC. 107(49) 4.2.11.Certificate with the date of the last

calibration check should be retained onboard for inspection purposes.

If for some reasons the computer unit needs to be changed, make sure that the memory card remains

on board for at least 18 months. The new computer unit will carry its own memory card. The old card

can be inserted into the new unit only for reading not for write-in.

Warranty

Installation and servicing must be undertaken by a competent and suitable skilled person. Our

company will provide 12-month free maintenance for any defect resulting from manufacture

workmanship after the purchase. But the following are not included:

? Any fault because of the fact that clients do not install and operate in accordance with the

instruction manual or of clients’ misoperation and random transformation and repair.

? Any fault caused by Force Majeure

? Any fault caused by undesignated power supply, connectivity or installation place

In case of freezing conditions, the device cannot be used and water samples in the measuring cell should

be emptied complete to avoid the breaking of glass tubes.

1. Introduction

The BO-E08 15ppm Bilge Alarm is designed in accordance with MEPC.107( 49) requirements in the

spirit of maritime pollution prevention and control by International Maritime Organization (I.M.O.). Taking

optical measurement method, it is usually used together with the bilge separator to monitor the processing

and emission of bilge water to protect the marine environment. It can also be used for the oil measurement

and monitoring in waste water in chemical, metallurgy, petroleum, water processing factories and

environmental conservation field.

The technical function, in accordance with I.M.O. MEPC.107 (49) decisions and the China

Classification Society (CCS) approval specifications, makes the 15ppm alarm device trustworthy.

2. Features

2.1 Main Features

1) Take the latest optical measurement principle, it can measure the oil concentration without

effected by active agent components;

2) The characteristic design of separating the computer unit from the measuring cell according to

MEPC.107 (49) 4.2.11 makes the change of the measuring cell convenient while this unit still

carries the calibration onboard;

3) It is convenient to maintain and wash the measuring cell. Open the cleaning cover and clean the

cell manually;

4) Bear automatic washing function. The contaminated inspection channel can be cleaned easily via

the interface menu;

5) Display in large LCD with English-Chinese alternative interface and easily-operating menu

interface;

6) Equipped with REC port, 4-20mA alternative output current for remote monitoring;

7) Small cubage, reasonable constructions and easy installation and maintenance;

8) Bear simulation test function making spot installation and adjustment easy.

3. Measuring Principle

The measuring method is the internationally accepted refraction optical measurement. Waste water samples

processed by 15ppm bilge water separator enter into the measuring cell of the 15ppm Bilge Alarm. A group

of optical sensors at different locations measures a combination of the transmitted light and scattered light

signals under the effect of oil droplets. The sensor signals are then processed by a microprocessor to

calculate the oil content in the water sample. Then the oil concentration is sent to the computer system and

displayed on the LCD plate.

The 15ppm bilge alarm is equipped with two separate alarm circuits. When leaving the factory, both

alarms are default setting to 15ppm according to MEPC.107 (49). The set points can be changed during

1~ 15pmm according to the needs of users ,but above 15ppm is not allowed. If the oil concentration of

the waste water exceeds the maximum set point, the alarm indicator light will shine red immediately. If

the alarm sign keep happening within the adjusted time delay, the oil alarm relays will be activated to

prevent the waste water that exceeds the concentration standard from discharging to the outsides of the

vessel. Time delay is set to avoid some false alarms and frequent moves of solenoid valves to extend its

working life. The user needs to adjust the delay time of both alarm points when using the device. We

recommend the set point of alarm point 2 to sets below that of alarm point 1.

The 15ppm bilge alarm can record such data as date, time, alarm state, operating state of 15ppm

bilge separator and the start-up time of the device and so on. The data can keep for at least 18 months.

Besides all the functions, the device bears querying and printing functions. When changing the bilge

alarm, make sure the old memory card remains on board and the data keep for at least 18 months. When

the separator works, the indicator light on the computer panel shines green. When it does not work, the

light does not shine.

According to MEPC.107 (49) requirements, the instrument is equipped with external protection

device to avoid deliberately controlling of the device (the alarm operates and the water samples go back

to bilge if someone open the computer).The seal inside the instrument is to prevent artificial disassembly.

According to I.M.O. resolution MEPC.107 (49),once the instrument is in fault, cleaning or

water-break state, the alarm indicator light shines, relative alarm relay is activated and water samples can

only go back to bilge. When the equipment powers off, the relay contact points of the alarm 1 (ALARM1)

and alarm 2 (ALARM2) are in the alarm state, in order to prevent emission of the oil water that exceed

concentration standard. When it powers on, the relay contact points are in a normal state. The discharge

oil-polluted water that exceeds the stipulated standards after being tested will be controlled by the solenoid

valve.

4. Product Identification

The BO-E08 15ppm bilge alarm mainly contains 3 parts, the computer unit, the measuring cell and

three-way solenoid valve. The specific identification of various components is shown in Figure 1, in

which:

The computer unit contains the control panel, the circuit board with a liquid crystal display and data

reading card, the printer for data printing and the terminal circuit boards for external connection.

In the measuring cell installs the measurement sensor, a desiccator with desiccant and the stainless

steel with outlet. The measurement data can be connected to the computer via communication cable.

Three-way solenoid valve with clean water and sample water inlet is used for the control of channel

choices for water and sample water and channel switch at offset self-adjustment.

5. Installation

According to I.M.O. 6.2.1 rule, the response time between the device and the 15ppm bilge separator

should be less than 20 seconds. To avoid slow response, the device should be installed as closely as

possible to the 15ppm bilge separator. The installation size of the instrument is as Figure 2.

5.1 Assembly Instrument

Mount the BO-E08 15ppm Bilge Alarm Device by means of 6 x M8 screws on to a rigid vertical

surface and preferably with the display panel of the monitor at eye level. For service and maintenance,

sufficient space to all sides should be available.

5.2 Piping

Connect the BO-E08 15ppm bilge alarm to the sample point of the oily-water separator outlet and to

a source of oil free water employing Φ8×1mm OD copper or stainless steel pipe. The sample point

should be located on a vertical section of the separator outflow piping to minimize the entrained air in

any sample. The tapping point should be at a level above the outlet of the 15ppm Bilge Alarm to ensure

the sample cell is flooded at all times.

5.3 Wiring

There are 5 gland boxes,1 communication cable connected to the measuring cell and 1 cable

controlling three-way solenoid valve installed at the bottom of the main chassis of the 15ppm bilge alarm,

6. System Installation Inspection

On completion of the installation, piping and wiring, please carry out the following checks step by

step:

6.1 Electrical Inspection

(1) Check that the grounding has been made according to relevant regulations;

(2) Check that the power supply connected to the terminals 1,2 is AC 100-240V, 50-60Hz;

(3) Check the wiring of the alarm system is in accordance with the MEPC.107 (49) Requirements.

6.2 Piping Inspection

(1) Pass clean water through the pipe;

(2) Adjust the menu to enter the cleaning mode. Suggest the cleaning time for 300 sec;

(3) Check all the pipe junctions don’t leak;

(4) If the pipe works well, observe if there are obvious bubbles in the water gap of measuring cell. If

bubbles exist, identify and eliminate the happening of the bubbles.

6.3 Flow Inspection

If the instrument pipe works well, pass some clean water into the instrument at this time and check if

the outlet water flow rate of the measuring cell within 0.1-4L/min. If it is not in this range, then it is

needed to adjust the flow rate by using the small screws in the cell cap. More details please refer to the

“Adjustment of Flow” of chapter 8.

The flow rate should be checked on both the clean water supply and the separator sample supply. If

the clean water supply is obtained from a high pressure source, a shunt device should be installed at the

pipe to the clean water supply.

6.4 Functional Tests

Operate according to the following steps. If all the operation results match, it can be concluded that

the device functions well.

(1) The display shows "EE" when turned on under no water condition and the alarm indicator lights 1,

2 are both bright.

(2) Pass clean water through the instrument (enter the cleaning mode via menu setting) .The oil

concentration shows "0-2ppm"on the screen, alarm lights 1, 2 both shine red and the relay is

activated at the same time. When it returns to normal operation and passes the sample water, the

instrument displays live oil concentration.

(3) Pass sample water through the instrument, press the TEST key to enter the simulation test mode

displaying “15ppm”, alarm lights 1, 2 both shining red and the relay taking relative operation.

Adjust the simulation concentration rate via ▲ ▼ keys, the concentration rate ranging during

0~49ppm( It will display “EE” when the concentration is above 49ppm) .More details please refer to

the “Test Mode” of Chapter 7.4.

7. Working Instructions

7.1 Self-checking

Plug in the instrument, switch on the power supply and the power indicators on the panel shine

showing the welcome interface.



After a few seconds, the instrument gets into the self-check state.











The self-check functions for the instrument include: memory,

printer, memory card and connection. If the self-check passes, it

will show “OK”, otherwise “Error”.

If errors exist in connection, please check the instrument

according to the instructions and then repower it.

After self-checking completes, the instrument enters the time

setting interface. If the instrument has been operated for a long time, the time need to be corrected。 Press the

? ? keys to select the time parameter you want to modify, and

press the ▲ ▼ keys to revise the parameter. Long press the ▲ ▼

keys to quickly add/drop. After the modification, press the OK key

to save the changes and the MENU key to cancel this revision

If the time setting is not done in 30 sec, the system will quit

automatically and enter the master monitoring mode.

7.2 Monitoring Mode

Under the master monitoring mode, the instrument displays the

current date and time as well as the live measured ppm. The alarm

indicators Alarm1、 Alarm2 display the current alarm state. If the

oil concentration in the water samples surpasses the set paint, the

relative alarm light shines. If the alarm sign remains in the

above-concentration state within a set time delay (adjusted in the

system setting) the relay is activated.

If the memory card is not a corresponding card then it will prompt "Card read-only" in the bottom

state bar which means the current system is in a state of “read-only” without any data recording, and the

querying and printing are available. If there is no memory card or memory card not properly plugged in,

the state bar will prompt to "Check memory card". At this time, it can’t record data, neither data querying

nor printing. And the instrument will alarm in accordance with the I.M.O. MEPC. 107(49) requirements.

There are four items on each screen. Press the ▲ ▼ keys to select the function needed. The menu

can turn page automatically and press the OK key to enter the corresponding function option.

The specific operation of each function is as following:

1. System Set

In the menu of “system set”, you can set all instrument parameters.

The default value of Alarm1 is 15ppm with a setting range of

1~15ppm. Delay1 is the delay time of Alarm1 with the default value of

5sec with a setting range of 1~200sec. The default value of Alarm2 is

15ppm with a setting range of 1~15ppm. Delay2 is the delay time of

Alarm2 with the default value of 10sec with a setting range of 1~10sec.

The default value of offset is 0ppm with a setting range of -5~+5ppm

by pressing OK key enter the revision. The default value of output is

4-20mA which can be switched to 0-20mA.

Press the ? ? keys to select the parameter items you want to modify, use the ▲ ▼ keys to

plus/minus 1 to the selected parameters, long press the ▲ ▼ keys to quickly add/drop. After the

modification, press the OK key to save the changes and the MENU key to cancel this revision and the

system returns to the previous menu. Select "Default ", press the OK key, then all the parameters go back

to the default settings.

2. Time Set

Enter the "Time Setting" menu, then you can modify and calibrate the date and time of the instrument.













Press the ? ? keys to select the time items you want to modify, use the ▲ ▼ keys to change

values and long press the ▲ ▼ keys to quickly add / drop. Press the OK key to save after the dification

and the MENU key to cancel the changes and the system returns to the previous menu.

3. Date Query

You can query the previous data records in the "Data Query". With high-capacity memory cards in it,

BO-E08 can store the data records for at least 18 months.

In the "Data Query", the system will show the latest data records automatically, including date, time,

concentration degree, alarm status and the separator status.

At this point you can press the ▲ ▼ keys to select the last/next record. When it reaches the first or

the last record, data records will automatically give a cycle show.

"Data Query" also supports querying by time. Under the

interface of "Data Query", you can set the time of the data you

want to query via the OK key and modify the relative time items

via the ▲ ▼ ? ? keys. After the setting, the system will search

and display the data records most closely to this time by pressing

the OK key and will cancel the query by pressing the MENU key.

4. Wash

You can wash the glass tubes after selecting the “Wash” menu. Set the wash time ranging 10~300

sec before the wash, the system will start the countdown and the wash via the OK key while it will

cancel the wash and return to the previous menu via the MENU key. During the wash time, the

instrument will initiate the alarm with the alarm light shining red and the relative relay will be activating

according to the I.M.O. Resolution MEPC.107.(49) 4.2.10.











All the keys are not available during the wash time. After the wash, the system will go back to the

previous menu automatically.

5. Light Set

The “Light Set” menu can control the backlight switch of the LCD screen.













Press the ? ? keys to select the on/off option, the OK key to function and the MENU key to cancel and

return to the previous menu.

6. Product Information

Display the product information and the contact number of the company. Press the ? ? keys to switch

the screen. , and press the OK or MENU key to cancel and return to the previous menu.

7. Chinese and English Switch

Press the Ok key to switch between Chinese and English language. The date records printed will be in

accordance with the current language setting

7.4 Test Mode

Under the master monitoring mode, press the TEST key to enter the simulation test mode. At this time,

the left display interface prompts “TEST’ and the system makes records meanwhile.















Press the ? ? keys to adjust the simulated concentration, ranging 0~49ppm (it displays “EE” if the

concentration is above 49ppm) and the relay will be activated. Press the TEST key to exit test mode and

return to the master monitoring mode.

7.5 Printing Mode

Under the master monitoring mode, press the PRINT key to enter the printing mode. The default print

mode by the system is: 9600bps with 1 start bit, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no calibration. Please refer the

specific setting of the printer to its instruction manual. The printer has been set to a correct mode

according to system requirements prior to the delivery. Users do not have to modify the settings when the

printing function is in normal state.

There are two printing methods under the printing mode: time range print and latest records print.







1. Time Range Print

Print the relative data records according to the inputted time range. Press the ▲ ▼ ? ? keys to set the

start time and end time











The system will stop automatically after each 50 records printed and ask the users whether

to continue the printing, At this point, press the OK key to continue printing while othes keys

to exit the printing and return to the previous option.











2. Latest Records Print











Print the latest records. You can set the number of the data records via the ▲ ▼ keys, which

can print 1~ 200 latest records. Then press the OK key to start printing while press the MENU

key to give up the printing and return to the previous option.

8. Service and Maintenance

1. Flow Adjustment:If there is no water at the sample water outlet, you should first stop the

instrument.Regulate the flow rate through the flow regulator .The regulator makes 1/4 circle

of clockwise spin, then the water outlet will be reduced correspondingly. On the contrary,

if the regulator makes 1/4 circle of counter clockwise spin, then the water outlet will be

increased correspondingly(don’t clockwise spin to much, make sure no leak at all). There are

3 outlet holes at the bottom of the regulator. Once the outlet water amount does not meet the

requirements, spin out screws or close 1 or 2 outlet holes to adjust the flow rate(as shown).

2. Instrument Cleaning: If the instrument has been used for about 1000 hours, check whether

the glass tubes of the measuring cell be contaminated and clean them .Open the flow

regulation cap on top of the measuring cell, insert the washing brush into the measuring cell,

brush up and down for several times, spin off the regulator to pass clean water for some time

and check whether the instrument shows “0~ 2ppm”. If not, wash it again. Take out the

washing brush and spin on the flow regulator.

3. Offset Regulation: If the display is not zero when clean water passes through the instrument,

then it needs to take offset regulation. Press the MENU key on the panel to enter “offset”

submenu and adjust via the ▲ ▼ keys to make the instrument show 0ppm.

4. Desiccant Changing: The desiccant guarantees the room humidity below 40% to ensure

measurement accuracy and protect devices in the measuring cell. Observe the window colors

of the desiccator .If blue, it indicates the drying device is in a normal state; if pink, replace

the desiccant. Unscrewed the sealing cap, take out the desiccant and replace by a new one.

5. Replacement of Print Paper Rolls:

? As shown in Figure 6, follow the arrowhead position to buckle the rotating wrench

gently. Please refer to Figure 7 after the buckle.

? Continue to rotate the wrench, take the paper-axis of print head out of the print head as

shown in Figure 8.

? At this time, the paper-axis separates from the print head. Open the cover of the paper

storehouse gently as shown in Figure 8.

? Load print paper and pull out some paper (beyond the teeth).Put the paper neat and

note the direction of the paper (the lateral part of the paper roll faces the print head

after pulling the paper);

? Close the paper warehouse cover gently. Make paper-axis press print paper neat ,then

press paper-axis back into the print head, and put rotating wrench at the original

position, as shown in Figure 6

? Switch on power of the printer, press the SEL(UP) key to turn off the indicator light

and the LF(DOWN) key to rotate the print head. At this time check whether paper is

distorted and then press the SEL(UP) key or switch off the power.

10. Transportation and Storage

1. Drain water in pipes and measuring cell before packaging and transportation. The

general transportation tools are allowed under the good condition of packaging. But

the instrument must be protected from impact, rain and sun.

2. For long-term storage, the instrument should be stored in places with ambient

temperature of 0~ 30℃ ,relative humidity below 80% and no corrosive gas in the air

and should also avoid direct sunlight and places with dusts.
