THE RESEACH OF ZHANG QIAN STELE CLASSIC
DEVELOPMENT HISTORY
ABSTRACT
Zhang Qian Stele is valued for artistic aesthetic perception, it is considered as the
classical works of calligraphy by contemporaneity and neoteric people. It was so
common in Dong Han period, although it was cried up by later generations. It is obvious
that the later generations’ Interpretation of Han Stele is different from ancient people.
This paper explained that Zhang Qian Stele how to turn into classic of calligraphy step
by step from Dong Han period when it was used as pactical words to Ming period when
it come up out of land again. The different generations’ artistic aesthetic perception,
creation and evolution which were reflected in the formation of this calligraphy classic,
give us a lot of thought and enlightenment.
First, Zhang Qian Stele itself has qualification to become classical works, there
is an extremely high value of the art of calligraphy. Second, Zhang Qian Stele
calligraphy meet the aesthetic requirements, aesthetic style, these propel it to turn into
classical works. Times endorsement of a classic, reflects the aesthetic characteristics of
the times. Zhang Qian Stele as practical words in Han period and be appended into
classic works later step by step, Different times of a person who is reading Zhang Qian
Stele , not the same. It did not follow the view of times, but was explained rationally and
externally. It would serve for our artistic creation.
This paper is also builded upon the cases that how to copy it acceptantly or
rejectantly by the two expert Bing Sou Yun and Shao Ji He. Through that they find
aesthetic language accord with each one’s character and enjoying, and then the
exaggeration bring it on more high-light and trenchancy and to accomplish artistic style
into ones self. It gave us deep enlightenment in area of calligraphic copy and creation.
As the classical works of times, there are a lot of literature to research it, but there are
not almost anyone dissertate the process of changes and development. However the sort
of the process is positive and significant. we can well understand and explain Zhang
Qian Stele calligraphy, discover the difference of times aesthetic, cognize stele
knowledge rationally, through the research of classic development process.
III

The work of sorting out for the classic formation is fragmented and complicated, but
also is the foundational work for the study. As a researcher of calligraphy, carefully sort
out the Zhang Qian Stele calligraphy development process, for the deep study of
Zhang Qian Stele calligraphy to make our own efforts.
