( drawing near 或用 fast approaching )
With many natural disasters occurring, some people believe that the end of the world is fast approaching.
由於許多天災的發生，有些人相信世界末日即將降臨。
(22) There is no one but; there is nobody who does not…; all; everyone 都有「無不……」，「沒有不……」的意思。
例如：
Supposedly, there is no one but loves one's country.
大概沒有人不愛自己的國家。
或：
There is nobody who does not love his / her country.
或：
No one but loves one's own country.
也就是：
All people love their country.
或：
Everyone loves his / her country.
There is no Chinese but expects a peaceful solution to the Taiwan issue.
沒有中國人不期待和平解決台灣問題。
= All Chinese expect a peaceful solution to the Taiwan issue.
(23) Far from...; anything but; anything except; not at all; by no means; not for the world 都有「決非」，「決不是」，「差得遠」的意思。
例如：
Mr. A is far from being good at computer software.
A先生決非精於電腦的軟體。
Most teaching professionals are anything but wealthy.
多半教書決不富有。
( anything but = anything except )
A person with good character will by no means tell lies.
品格良好的人，決不撒謊。
( 注意：by all means 是無論如何 )
或：
A person with good character will not tell lies for the world.
也就是：
A good person will never tell a lie.
Mr. B is not a scholar at all.
B先生決不是一位學者。
= Mr. B is no scholar at all.
= Whatever else Mr. B may be, he is not a scholar.
至於far be it from someone 是指某人「決不會」。
例如：
Far be it from her to abandon her husband.
她決不會遺棄她的老公。(通常放在句首)
= She will never abandon her husband.
(24) too...to; so...cannot; not...enough 都有「太…而不能」的意思。
例如：
What he said seems too good to believe.
他所說的似乎太好了而不能相信。
Mr. B is too poor even to buy his daily basics.
B先生太窮了而買不起基本的日用品。
或：
Mr. B is so poor that he cannot afford to buy daily basics.
或：
Mr. B is not well-off enough to buy daily necessities.
The rich are too stingy to donate money.
富人太吝嗇而不願樂捐。
或：
The rich are not generous enough to donate money.
