Alan Smith and his wife run a small shop in a small town. It sells milk, butter, cheese, eggs and other things. It is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday morning, but it is shut on Sunday afternoon and on Monday.
Alan goes to some farms on Monday and buys their best butter and cheese and eggs from the farmers, but he buys his milk in the town.
Alan and his wife also sell a lot of food. One Saturday a woman came into the shop. She bought some eggs and some butter, and then she said to Alan, "your eggs and your butter are dear today. Why are Saturday and Sunday dearer than the other days??Alan smiled and said, "Our food is not dearer on Saturday and Sunday! It is cheaper on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!
