有的形容词在需要加强语气时，习惯上有自己特定的副词。如： (1) well worth 很值得 It was well worth waiting for. 这件事倒是很值得等待。 The exhibition is well worth a visit. 这个展览会值得一看。 (2) sound (fast, deeply) asleep 熟睡 Don’t wake her up—she’s fast (sound) asleep. 别吵醒她，她睡得很熟(很香)。 The postman comes at 6.30 in the morning, at which time I am usually fast asleep. 邮递员早晨6点30分来, 这个时候我通常还睡著大觉呢。 (3) wide (fully) awake 完全醒了 She rose, still not quite fully awake. 她起身时还没完全醒过来。 He was wide awake when he reached the village. 他抵达村子时已完全醒了。 (4) well content 非常满意 I shall be well content to do so. 我会非常高兴这样做。 I should be well content to do the job together with you. 我很愿意和你一起干这件工作。 |
