People cram at Xianyukou, an old-fashioned commercial street, in downtown Beijing, China, May 8, 2011. The folk custom commercial hub officially reopened to the public on Sunday. It is over 570 years since Xianyukou was formed in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and it used to be a high street well-known for many ancient brands in the realm of restaurants, retail dealers, theatres, bathhouses, teahouses and workshops of craftworks. In the year of 2004, Xianyukou was list as one of the 25 key cultural reserve areas in Beijing, and thus many old style architectures along the street stated to be repaired and rebuilt. Nowadays, many old famous shops and enterprises are resumed here, showcasing the commercial culture in this time-honored city. (Xinhua/Zhao Bing)
