本次教学，孩子需要明白以下三个红色概念。
A main idea is a statement of what a passage is mostly about. Remember, an author may choose not to state the main idea directly, in which case the reader has to infer the main idea of the passage.
Details are bits of information in a passage, sometimes given in a word or a phrase. Regarding a main idea, a supporting detail is a detail from the passage that supports the main idea.

一、让孩子阅读下面的诗歌。
Cleaning Day
I’d looked forward all week
to a fun Saturday,
but Mom said, “Clean your room
before you can play.”
“Fold your clean clothes,’’
my dear mother said.
“Pick up the toys,
and make your bed.”
“Get the puzzle pieces
and games off the floor,
put the books on the shelf,
hang your backpack on the door.’’
I cleaned, picked up, folded,
and put away as fast as I could.
And now I have to admit,
my room looks really good!
二、妈妈让孩子回答下面两个问题。
