OpenGL games that work with the EMGD 1.8 (2048) Driver

Ever since the new EMGD 1.8 (2048) driver with working OpenGL support i've been trying to find OpenGL games that will work on the GMA500 gfx chip. At first i just searched by game engines that i knew were OpenGL like id Tech 2 engine (Quake 2), id Tech 3 engine (Quake 3 Arena) id Tech 4 engine (Doom 3) and GoldSrc engine (Half-Life). After i didn't know any more games that i knew used an OpenGL engine i searched for popular Linux and Mac games since those should also be OpenGL because DirectX is just Windows. I'll split them up into 3 groups: Runs well, runs but low FPS (<15FPS) and dont run at all. The <15FPS cutoff would normally be way to low for action games but since it's a ATOM CPU and a GMA500 GPU i'd say anything over 15FPS is just damn impressive. :D If you know any games that work on these GMA500 systems or maybe just games that use OpenGL let me know and i can either add them to the list or try them myself. I tested the games on m UMID-SE: 1.6Ghz ATOM z530, 1GB RAM, GMA500 (EMGD 1.8 driver) and windows 7. BTW the reason i'm looking for OpenGL games is because OpenGL performance (on the GMA500 with current driver) seems to be much better compared to the DirectX performance. I tested this with Half-Life where you can pick if you want the game to use OpenGL, DirecxT of Software renderer. All the games that dont have TESTED behind them means i added them based on their engine. Of cource games based on the Quake 3 Arena or Half Life engine that were released years later will most likely run slower compared Q3A and H-L itself. GAMES THAT RUN WELL Quake III Arena (1999) TESTED Quake III: Team Arena (2000) Quake Live (2010) Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.2 (2000) American McGee's Alice (2000) Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force (2000) Star Trek: Elite Force II (2003) Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2001) Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (2003) James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (2004) Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix (2002) Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (2002) Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (2003) Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (2002) Medal of Honor: Allied Assault - Spearhead (2003) Medal of Honor: Allied Assault - Breakthrough (2003) Call of Duty (2003) TESTED Runs and looks quite good Call of Duty: United Offensive (2004) TESTED I did test this but it ran a lot slower compared to Call Of Cuty (2003). Nut sure if it was below 15FPS. Call of Duty Classic (2009) Severity (2007) Iron Grip: Warlord (2008) Dark Salvation (2009) Urban Terror (2007) TESTED Free game based on ioQuake3 engine. Half-Life (1998) TESTED runs great even at 800x600. I can't find a way to force it to 1024x600 because i think it would still run great. Team Fortress Classic (1999) Half-Life: Opposing Force (1999)TESTED Counter-Strike (2000) Gunman Chronicles (2000) Ricochet (2000) Deathmatch Classic (2001) Half-Life: Blue Shift (2001) TESTED Day of Defeat (2003) Counter-Strike Neo (2003) Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (2004) Counter-Strike Online (2008) Warcraft 3 (2002) TESTED use -opengl behind the target in the shortcut to set it to use OpenGL (small FPS boost) Tested this a while back, might have been just under 15FPS, but since isn't a first person shooter im going to give it a benefit of the doubt. World of Padman (2004) TESTED Free game based on ioQuake3 engine. Angry Birds (2009) TESTED I dont see what the fuzz is about. I like Plants vs Zombies or World of Goo much better. Max Payne (2001) TESTED You need to apply a sound fix for Win7, but after that it runs really well. Not 100% sure if it's OpenGL or DirectX but by the way it runs my guess is OpenGL. 800x600 32Bit and everything set to medium i get about 20-30FPS. GAMES THAT RUN BUT LOW FPS (<15) Doom 3 (2004) TESTED 5-10FPS (small hallways 15-17FPS) Spore (2008) TESTED James Bond 007: Nightfire (2002) TESTED GoldSrc engine, but doesn't run very well even tweaked to all low settings. Need for Speed - Underground 2 (2004) TESTED At 640x480 with everything set to low you might get close to 15FPS, but for a racing game you really need a high FPS. GAMES THAT WONT RUN AT ALL Call Of Duty 4 (2007) TESTED i know i was getting cocky :D |
