How to thaw foods?

Following are two defrosting methods for different frozen foods:

Meat: meat suits to natural thawing at room temperature; thawing in water will cause nutrients loss.
Poultry: poultry should be thawed in water. However, for those with internal organs, natural thawing at room temperature would be much better.
