        格罗斯特郡团（Gloucestershire Regiment）的组建年代是1694年，他的真正消失团建制的时间是1994年，而非抗美援朝期间，1994年，他成了"Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment"。而2005年，这个"战列步兵"(line infantry)出身的团再次被合并到了来复枪团（The Rifles）下面，从"战列步兵"变成"轻步兵"了。

        其次，格罗斯特郡团确实是获得战斗荣誉（battle honour）最多的单位，也是个荣誉很多的郡团，但是，这个荣誉不代表这个部队是英军中最强的部队，英军历史上，组建最久的不是它，下属营数量最多的不是它，有"禁卫"称号的不是它，有"皇家"称号的不是它，有"私人"(国王的私人，王后的私人)称号的不是它....它是1994年才有的"皇家" (Royal)称号的。

        然后，在朝鲜战场上，格罗斯特郡团也仅仅是自己的1营(虽然当时只有1个营)被"全歼"(仍然有140多人逃脱)。但是团(行政建制)八竿子都打不着呢，事后重组的也是在格罗斯特郡团下的1营(1St)。
