JAKARTA, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Rescuers have found the bodies of four people who died in a landslide in Agam district of West Sumatra, Indonesia, on Sunday morning, which also left three people injured and 18 others missing, an official said.

"The injured persons were immediately rushed to hospital and rescuers are still searching for the 18 missing persons," spokesman of the National Disaster Management Agency Sutopo Purwo Nugroho told Xinhua over the phone.

The natural disaster took place at 06:45 a.m. Jakarta time and has hit 15 houses. "As many as 20 people are trapped under the debris of the houses," said Ade Edward, spokesman of the disaster management and mitigation agency in West Sumatra.

Policemen, soldiers and people in local communities are on the site for evacuation with the help of heavy machinery equipment, said Edward.

Heavy rains since Friday have triggered floods and landslides in some areas of the district. Indonesia has frequently hit by floods and landslides during rainy season.
