HANGZHOU, May 12 (Xinhua) -- The driver of an Audi Q5 sports utility vehicle (SUV) that was involved in a collision that left seven people dead in east China's Zhejiang Province is suspected of drunk driving and being unlicensed, police said on Sunday.

The incident happened around midnight on Saturday in the economic and technological development zone of Wenzhou City, killing seven passengers of the SUV and injuring the driver.

The 36-year-old driver, surnamed Wang, is suspected of being unlicensed and drunk driving, while the vehicle may have been overloaded, police said in a statement.

An Audi Q5 has loading capacity of five people, including the driver.

The SUV that Wang was driving crashed into the back of a trailer truck, which was parked on the roadside.

The truck driver, also surnamed Wang and aged 30, was unscathed in the crash.

Police are further investigating the cause of the incident and verifying the identities of the dead.
