剪纸艺术 Paper cutting Art

家庭对我来说至关重要，所以我很自豪住在滑铁卢这个城市，因为她一年四季都有和家庭相关的庆祝活动。每年我们都会有几个有趣并令人兴奋的家庭活动节日，通过它们来保持我们家庭的健康，积极和快乐！

Family is extremely important to me, and I’m proud to live in a city that celebrates family all year round. We have several fun and exciting events and activities throughout the year that engage families – keeping them healthy, active and happy!

这是在多元文化家庭日我与本地市民参加剪纸活动的一张合影。据我了解，剪纸是在中国陕西相当流行的一项传统工艺。女孩和妇女们一起用红纸设计，折叠和剪切出特别的图案来装饰他们门窗，尤其是中国新年，婚礼还有其它的一些特殊场合。

This is a picture of me with a local resident who participated in a paper cutting activity at our Multicultural Family Day event. From what I understand, paper cutting is a traditional craft and quite popular in the Shaanxi province. Girls and ladies get together to design, fold and cut the red paper to decorate their doors and windows, especially for Chinese New Year, weddings and other special occasions.

这是为2013，蛇年而设计的一幅剪纸，代表吉祥和好运的新年祝福。太美了！我真是非常高兴能够参加这次活动。

The design in this picture is for 2013, the year of the snake, and represents good luck and best wishes for the New Year. It’s very beautiful and I am very happy I was able to attend this event.
