EU Chamber releases latest edition of 'European Businessin China Position Paper’

Beijing, Sept. 6 (People's Daily Online)--European Union Chamber of Commerce in China(EUCCC) launched its primary annual publication – "13th annual edition of EuropeanBusiness in China Position 2013/14" in Beijing today. The Position Paper indicates thateconomic restructuring is now prerequisite for China to maintain economic growth.
The Position Paper believes the transformation of China's economic structure should focuson its market force. China's strong emphasis on technological and scientific developmenthas played a key role in driving economic growth. EU chamber believes China has manyopportunities for economic development; China's economy needs a growing innovationoutput to move up the value chain.
The Position Paper suggests China should integrate international practices into domesticpolicies through better engagement and leadership in international standards andregulatory bodies, and through taking an active role in the expansion and evolution ofinternational trade and investment framework rule. This will assist the internationalizationof Chinese companies and improve China's global reputation.
This edition of the Position Paper was formulated over six-month consultative process by34 working groups. It aims to better the Chinese business environment and promoteChina's sustainable economic growth. In the year to come, EU chamber will present thePosition Paper to relevant Chinese authorities to identify possibilities to cooperate togetherto promote the implementation of these recommendations.
