(1) n. 借口，托辞
eg. I don't have any excuse to fail the exam.
我没有任何理由考试不及格。
(2) v. 原谅，打扰
excuse sb. for sth 因为某事原谅某人
eg. Excuse me .打扰了，劳驾了；原谅我
Please excuse me for breaking your glass.
请原谅我打碎了您的玻璃。
2.thank
(1) n. 感谢，谢谢，道谢的话（常用复数thanks ,多用于口语）
(2) v. thank sb 感谢某人
thank sb for sth / doing sth 因某事感谢某人
eg. Thank you for helping me so much.谢谢您帮我这么多。
(3)知识扩展
A. thanks to “多亏了，由于”
eg.Thanks to the teacher, or we can't finish the work.
多亏了我们的老师，否则我们不能完成作业。
B.thanks for“因……而感谢某人”，这里的thanks可以说成thank you。
eg.Thanks for your help.谢谢您的帮助。
3.ask
（1） ask sb sth 问某人某事
eg. Mom asks me about the exam almost everyday.
妈妈基本上每天都会问我关于考试的事。
（2）ask ……for……请求，要求，询问
eg. I want to ask my father for money.
我想向爸爸要钱。
（3）ask sb (not) to do sth 让某人（不）做某事
eg. Teacher asks him to clean the classroom.
