BuddhistStudies.Net is a collection of resources and news related to the academic study of Buddhist history and culture.
The OICB was first compiled and published on August 26, 2006. The present site was launched in late 2011.

Current Projects

Holmes Welch and the Study of Buddhism in Twentieth-Century China A multi-year collaborative research project that will celebrate and update the seminal work of Holmes H. Welch (1924-1981)

Reconstructing Buddhism in Modern China Daijō Tokiwa, Shina Bukkyō shiseki tōsaki (Tokyo: Ryuginsha, 1942[1938]). This project, supported by an Early Career Fellowship from the Leverhulme Trust, will examine how the reconstruction of Buddhist sacred spaces in modern China helped initiate a transformation of religious culture and the development of a modern religiosity.
