According to the latest data, the GDP of Chengdu and Wuhan in 2014 exceeded one trillionyuan, along with Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Suzhou and Chongqing.China now has nine cities with a GDP in excess of one trillion yuan.
The combined GDP of the nine cities amounts to some 2,100 billion US dollars, accountingfor more than one fifth of the nation's GDP and equivalent to the total value of India'seconomy in 2014. It even exceeds Russia, according to CE.cn reports.
Shanghai's GDP saw 7 percent growth in 2014 and reached 2.4 trillion yuan; Beijing's GDProse 7.3 percent to 2.1 trillion yuan.
Among the nice cities, Chongqing ranks first in terms of growth rate (10.9 percent),followed by Shenzhen (10 percent) and Tianjin (10 percent).
