There be句式

　　There be 结构是英语中常用的结构，主要用来表达“某处有某物、某人或某事”，有时也可用来表示强调，there无实际意义，是引导词，be动词之后的名词或代词是句子的主语。

　　1. There be 的基本句式

　　There be 是最基本的句式，be 动词的单复数形式与最靠近它的名词或代词一致。

　　There is a small village at the foot of the mountain. 山脚下有一个小村庄。

　　There are four seasons in a year. 一年有四个季节。

　　Are there any students in the reading room? 阅览室里还有学生吗？

　　There is a pen and two pencils on the desk. 桌子上有一枝钢笔和两支铅笔。

　　There is a writing desk，a computerand piles of books in the room.屋子里有一张写字台，一台计算机和成堆的书。

　　2. There be 的变式

　　There be 结构中的be 动词之前有时可加上 seem to，appear to，happen to，is likelyto，情态动词等；be 动词还可以用stand，live，remain，exist等替换，用来表示“静止、存在”等。

　　There seemed to be no one who really understood me. 似乎没人能理解我。

　　There happened to be no one in your office when Iphoned. 我打电话时，你办公室正好没人。

　　There is likely to be something wrong with hiscomputer. 他的电脑可能有毛病。

　　There must be someone in the room, for the light ison. 房间里一定有人，因为灯是亮着的。

　　Once upon a time there lived an old monk in thetemple. 从前，那座庙里住着一个老和尚。

　　3. There be 句型的时态

　　There be 句型有不同的时态变化，其时态变化体现在 be 动词上，如其一般将来时 There will be, There is going to be; 现在完成时 There have/has been 等。

　　There is going to be speech contest next Friday. 下周五将举行一场演讲比赛。

　　There have been no letters from him since I left hometwo months ago. 离开家乡两个月以来我没收到他的信。

　　There will be a wonderful concert this weekend. 本周末将有一场精彩的演唱会。

　　注意：在There be 句型中如果地点状语放于句首，there 有时也省略。

　　In front of our school (there) runs aclean and clear stream. 我们学校门前流淌着一条干净、清澈的小溪。
