Beijing starts highest level of security control ahead of Thursday's V-day parade

From Aug. 31, Beijing has started the highest level of security control measures for the event held for the 70th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression on Sep.3. Since Aug.20, around 850,000 volunteers wearing red armbands have begun to assist the police in security tasks at crowded places such as main roads, residential communities and shopping malls.
