1. He has never given me any shit. Don't give me that shit. 2. I'm playing a waiting game. 3. You should answer your calling. 4. This building is no great shakes. shake是「震動、搖動、握手」之意,而no great shakes這句常見用語跳脫了這個字義,意指「平凡無奇、沒什麼了不起的事」。 1. This brand is well known ___ all Taiwanese. This brand is well known by all Taiwanese. 正解:This brand is well known to all Taiwanese. 2. I really put my foot ___ it. I really put my foot on it. 正解:I really put my foot in it. 3. Don't complain to me about the noise; you're barking ___ the wrong tree. Don't complain to me about the noise; you're barking at the wrong tree. 正解:Don't complain to me about the noise; you're barking up the wrong tree. 4. I can't reach the pens. Would you throw one ___ me? I can't reach the pens.. Would you throw one at me? 正解:I can't reach the pens. Would you throw one to me? 5. Helen usually goes to work ___ her car. Helen usually goes to work with her car. 正解:Helen usually goes to work by car.
