元代中後期,在青花瓷漸漸成熟的同時,釉裡紅工藝也有了進步,已能燒出純正的紅色。由於釉裡紅對燒制溫度和窑中氣氛要求嚴格,大多數元代釉裡紅偏黑灰,紅豔欲滴者很少,這樣就限制了釉裡紅的發展。其時裝潢手段單一,大多用刻劃塗抹的手法,產量也非常稀少。
