#1 Boxy Pullover by Mari Lynn Patrick

The bright turquoise and placid pastels of this short-sleeve pullover—which drapes divinely thanks to its relaxed gauge—evoke a shimmering pool. Rolled edges at the neckline, cuffs and split hem, an airy fit and loose-fitting sleeves keep it cozy. Knit in Silk Garden Sock Solo #31 Forest, the solid stockinette background sports textured garter-stitch bands in Silk Garden Sock colorway #437 Penelope’s Garden.

#2 Basketweave Tee by Valentina Devine

Easy in fit and easy to knit, this basketweave top is the ultimate summer project. Featuring stylish drop shoulders and a crisp boat neckline, it’s worked entirely without shaping. Wide elbow-length sleeves complete the relaxed look. The basketweave pattern is easy
to memorize; watch as the shades of Taiyo colorway #90 transition from emerald, raspberry and orange to cerulean, navy, bronze and pistachio. Garter-stitch borders are knit in at the edges.

#3 Marled Stripe T-Shirt by Jane Yu

This close-fitting marled tee contrasts dark- and light-shaded colorways: black and blue Silk Garden Sock #396 and creamy Silk Garden Sock Solo #1. The two yarns are held together to knit the main body, texturizing the shifting shades of cyan, indigo and navy in the variegated yarn. It’s complemented by the speckled yoke and set-in sleeves, which are knit using two strands of Silk Garden Sock Solo held together. Deep double-ribbed borders round out the sporty look.

#4 Cabled Tee by Lisa Craig

Equally chic over linen pants, floaty skirts or slim trousers, this cabled tee is a true statement piece. A textured mesh panel runs the length of the front, with outsize twisted cables mirrored along either side. Trim set-in sleeves offset the plush turtleneck collar, while cushy double-rib borders trim the edges. Worked to form a high-low split hem, the back is knit in plain stockinette. The sapphires and emeralds of Kagayaki colorway #4 offer a rich backdrop to the dramatic patterning.

#5 Colorblock Tee by Mari Lynn Patrick

A splashy exchange of texture and color adds interest to this loose-fitting colorblock tee. Striated in Silk Garden colorway #373, which stripes shades of blue, sky, royal and light green, the waistband is worked in delicate seed stitch. The bodice and cap sleeves, knit in solid-shaded Silk Garden Solo colorway #32, amp up the texture with allover trellis cables. Cute details, like the narrow single-rib borders and mini split hem, keep it playful.

#6 Side Slit Tee by Deborah Helmke

This side-slit pullover updates the classic boat-neck silhouette. Knit in allover reverse stockinette, it blurs the dappled mauve, forest, salmon and golden-rod of Mirai colorway #16. Flowing up from the double-rib hem, stockinette bands trim the high side slits. Also edged in double ribbing, the trim three-quarter sleeves keep a slim line through the drop-shoulder shape. To maintain an even color sequence, one body piece and sleeve are completed before the second body piece is begun.

#7 Openwork Cowl by Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton

Make an unforgettable entrance in a sensational openwork cowl. Lofty Kureyon Air augments its sculptural qualities. The dropstitch openwork technique, which is used to create open spaces without breaking the yarn, finds a perfect pairing in Noro’s continuous colorscapes, seen here in the alluring tones of #392 Mary Ellen Jasper. Knit crosswise in garter stitch, the pattern sequence is worked with longer vertical columns along the lower edge to form the cape-like shape.

#8 Pleat and Eyelet Scarf by Lisa Craig

Pleated panels put a jaunty spin on this long-line summer scarf. They’re worked simply from a pattern of garter stitch ribbed with alternating knit and purl one-stitch columns. A row of bobbles embellishes the main pattern, knit in banded stockinette and garter stitch punctuated with eyelet rows. The scarf, knit in the reds, gold, green and blue of Taiyo colorway #72, is worked in two pieces and joined at the center with Kitchener stitch.

#9 Buttonhole Cowl by Pat Strong

Breathe easy in this charming buttonhole cowl, which is knit in the round with double-rib edges. Dotting the stockinette background, five-stitch buttonholes are worked over a two-round sequence in which stitches are bound off and then cast back on. The generous dimensions allow it to be worn doubled or pulled down around the shoulders. Kagayaki’s blend of wool, cotton, silk and viscose—in jewel-toned colorway #5 hot pink, maroon and purple—makes it a true three-season piece.

#10 Garter and Lace Cowl by Angela Tong

Panels of garter stitch and textured lace alternate around this lush cowl. A quick knit in Taiyo, it’s worked from a provisional cast-on and joined at the ends with a three-needle bind-off. The interchange of
simple textured stitches harmonizes with the bright flashes of orange, purple, fuchsia and green in colorway #94. The chic pattern is easy to memorize, making it an ideal weekend project.

#11 Dimensional Tuck Stitch Cowl by Tracy Purtscher

Bulky yarn meets a new method of tuck-stitch knitting, resulting in a wonderfully lavish cowl. Seen here for the first time, the Dimensional Tucks technique features stitches that are picked up from the wrong side several rows below and knit together with an open stitch. (Single purl stitches are strategically placed on the stockinette-stitch bands, making it easy to see where you should insert the needle to form the tuck stitch.) Columns of garter stitch add interest throughout. It’s knit in the orange, magenta and orchid shades of Ginga colorway #19.

#12 Crochet Wave Poncho by Cristina Mershon

his trapezoid top’s shoulder-skimming shape is created from two simple building blocks: a square at the front and a rectangle at the back. The top back curves forward to form the split-collar bodice, where it’s joined to the front with a single seam. Zippers join the side edges, allowing the piece to be worn as a poncho. Worked sideways throughout, the allover crochet wave pattern creates sleek vertical lines as it ripples the oceanic tones of Silk Garden Sock Solo #32 Pacific.

#13 Rhombus Poncho by Cristina Mershon

Two rectangles, very different in proportion, create this swingy rhombus top. At 20”/51cm tall by 40”/101cm wide, the back piece folds forward at each end to shape the dolman sleeves, while at 20”/51cm by 24”/61cm, the front piece frames the silhouette’s dimensions. Bright and fresh in Silk Garden Sock Solo #33 Pistachio, the allover pattern of crochet shell-stitch mesh offers plenty of drape. The boat neck creates an elegant backdrop for statement jewelry.

#14 Easy Striped Wrap by Shaina Bilow

A leisurely knit in lofty Kureyon Air, this U-shaped wrap works up in no time on size U.S. 11/8mm needles. Shaped to naturally hug the shoulders, it’s knit in one piece with increases worked evenly across every sixth row. Garter-stitch borders knit in at the edges complement the simple overall pattern of garter ridges. Worked across a generous number of stitches, colorway #379 Mantis Dance creates a dynamic narrow-stripe effect with shades of black, teal, wine and pistachio.

#15 Chevron Jacket by Diane Piwko / Fiber Circle Yarn Shop

Chevrons take a star turn in this stunning cape-like jacket. Knit in one piece from the top down, it alternates two colorways of Silk Garden—turquoise, fuchsia and gold #211 and purple, black and violet #395—for a high-contrast effect. An eyelet pattern shapes the neckline. Intermittent garter ridges add interest to the interplay of colors, while elongated chevrons form naturally pointed edges at the cuffs and hem. Wear it open for a loungewear look or belted at the waist for a trendy touch of ’80s glam.

#16 Swingy Poncho by Laura Zukaite

Taking a cue from traditional Peruvian styles, this swingy poncho is adorned with fun twisted fringe and tassels. Eyelets allow for easy attachment. To highlight the embellishments, a band of tuck-stitch welting is worked after each eyelet row. Decrease shaping at the center front and back, worked from the lower edge up, creates the pointed shape. Knit in the pink, green and violet pastels of cotton-blend Mirai colorway #9, it’s an ideal piece to take you through the summer months.

#17 Lacy Ruana by Ellen Liguori Designs

A soft palette of rose, cornflower, olive and beige striates this beautifully draped ruana. Silk Garden Lite colorway #2131 is used for the main body, which is worked in lacy garter mesh. It begins with the front panels, which are joined at the shoulders and continue through the back. With its slightly heavier gauge and neutral tones, Silk Garden colorway #269 creates a bold finish at the garter-stitch borders. The reversible fabric allows the piece to be styled in myriad ways.

#18 Chevron Throw by Grace Akhrem

Graphic oversized chevrons zigzag across this garter-stitch throw. Worked from bias-knit strips that are joined in finishing, the bold patterning is surprisingly simple to create. Wide borders are picked up and knit after the throw is assembled. The cool tones of Kureyon colorway #188 complement the gently flowing pattern.

#19 Modular Afghan by Anna-Beth Meyer-Graham

Vibrant whirls of color brighten this modular afghan. Lacy shaping forms the hexagon motifs, pooling the lime, teal, bronze and vermillion shades of Taiyo colorway #108. Knit in the round from the garter-stitch edge to the center, each block is joined as it’s worked. The afghan requires only six skeins to complete, making it a quick-to-knit project.

#20 Patchwork Afghan by Dorcas Lavery

This dramatic patchwork afghan makes for a wonderfully simple knit. Multidirectional modular squares swirl the vivid pink, black, ecru and taupe tones of Taiyo colorway #1. After the blocks are seamed, narrow borders are picked up and knit around the outer edges. It’s knit in cushy garter stitch throughout.

#21 Patchwork Pillow by Carol J. Sulcoski

Take a tropical turn with an ultra-modern patchwork pillow, knit intarsia-style in staggered blocks. Bright shades of pink, orange, blue and lime are isolated from four Kureyon colorways: #95, #102, #349 and #352. Using only three colors per row, it’s an easy introduction to intarsia knitting. A fabric backing finishes the look.

#22 Origami Pouch by Eisaku Noro Design Team 野呂英作企画室

An ingenious construction sets apart this tulip tote: Four identical stockinette strips, shaped with a 45-degree top angle, are seamed together at the bottom and side edges. The bias-knit technique forms
a durable bag in bulky cotton-blend Ginga, while colorway #19’s sanguine shades of mango, magenta and orchid create a unique ombré colorblock effect. The top edge is trimmed with a thick crochet border. Crocheted separately, the sturdy cord handles can be easily adjusted for length.

#23 Sleeveless Jacket by Eisaku Noro Design Team 野呂英作企画室

Cheery in citrusy Ginga colorway #19, this sleeveless jacket brightens button-ups and tees with a bold jolt of color. V-shaped panels of basket-weave patterning, embellished with a center eyelet in each purl block, trim the waistband for a whimsical harlequin twist. Plain stockinette at the bodice allows the colors to shine. Simple shaping at the round-neck collar and set-in armholes adds extra polish. Bulky yarn and self-finished edges make it a quick and easy knit.

#24 Short Sleeve Jacket by Eisaku Noro Design Team 野呂英作企画室

Feminine details soften this swingy jacket, knit in lightweight cotton/silk-blend Mirai. Allover lacy stockinette chevron patterning gently undulates the dappled shades of charcoal, jade, grape, hot pink and orange in colorway #17. Worked with A-line shaping to the underarm, it features a soft rolled collar and tailored set-in sleeves. Delicate single-rib borders trim the cuffs and hem. Complete with elbow-length sleeves, it’s a consummate summer look.

#25 Dolman-Sleeve Jacket by Eisaku Noro Design Team 野呂英作企画室

This kicky dolman jacket sports subtle knit/purl textured hound’s-tooth
patterning. It’s constructed from two tapered side panels, shaped with side increases, that flank a center rectangle. The same side panels are mirrored to form the fronts. Princess seams lend structure to the back; single ribbing borders the waistband and cuffs. A single-button closure at the lower edge complements the cropped silhouette. Ash-gray tones contrast with vivid teal and copper in Silk Garden Lite colorway #2162.

#26 Sleeveless Top with Pockets by Eisaku Noro Design Team 野呂英作企画室

This relaxed-fit top sports staggered stripes, created with a simple twist: The two front panels are worked from separate balls of Taiyo, alternating the lime, teal, bronze and orange rainbow of colorway #108. A pair of similar panels, worked without neck shaping, create the back. Worked in a simple eyelet pattern, the top is finished with single-rib borders and ruched patch pockets. They’re created by working an eyelet near the top edge, which is picked up and knit on the final row to gather the fabric.

#27 Sleeveless Top by Eisaku Noro Design Team 野呂英作企画室

Casually draped in Kagayaki, this sleeveless top uses the same
technique as the sweater shown opposite to shift the placid blue-greens of colorway #4. Dotted eyelets wink across the background of smooth stockinette. Worked from four seamed panels, the drop-shoulder silhouette is loose enough to layer over camis, tees or button-up shirts. Rolled borders are picked up and knit at the armholes and round-neck collar, while the lower edge is left to roll naturally.

#28 Cross Stitch Top by Eisaku Noro Design Team 野呂英作企画室

Airy Indian cross stitch lightens up this sleeveless pullover, which works up quickly in bulky cotton/silk-blend Ginga. Though it looks like a cardi, it requires none of the added finishing: A narrow reverse-stockinette column runs down the center front, creating the look of an openfront piece. Knit flat, it’s charming in the sunny lemon, teal and
orange tones of colorway #17. The deep-V neckline, sloped drop shoulders and narrow armholes offer a flattering finish.

#29 V-Neck Pullover by Eisaku Noro Design Team 野呂英作企画室

Alternating columns of zigzag lace and mini cables traverse this sideways-knit sweater. It softly drapes in Kagayaki, a summery blend
of wool, cotton, silk and viscose. Cast-on and bound-off stitches shape the deep-V neckline and sloped shoulder seams. Single-rib borders are picked up and knit for the sleeves, hem and collar, which is shaped with classic centered double decreases. Turquoise, orange and magenta pop against a background of forest shades in colorway #20.

#30 Broomstick Lace Shawl by Carolyn Calderon

Waves of textured openwork sweep across a shawl crocheted in broomstick lace. The singular technique marries wide loops worked on a large knitting needle with single-crochet clusters, forming a draped yet robust fabric. Worked crosswise in Silk Garden Sock, the shawl is shaped to form a crescent with bold sawtooth edgings. Shades of aqua, lilac, buttercup and green—the colors of #437 Penelope’s Garden—emblazon its generous wingspan. A pair of oversize tassels adorn the ends.
