过去进行时
1.过去进行时的构成
过去进行时有“was/were+动词-ing”形式构成。以动词work为例，其肯定式、否定式、疑问式以及简略答语见下表：

【注意】was not常缩写为wasn’t；were not常缩写为weren’t.
2过去进行时的用法
过去进行时表示过去某一时刻或某一段时间正在进行的动作。这一特定的过去时间，除有上下文暗示以外，一般用时间状语表示。
—What were
you doing this time yesterday.你们昨天在这个时间做什么？
—We were having a class.我们在上课。
状语从句
本单元我们接触了when和while引导的时间状语从句，时间状语从句的引导词有很多，常见的有：

【注意】since引导的从句多用一般过去时，主句用现在完成时。如：
She has
worked in the factory since graduated from the university.
她大学毕业以后就一直在那一家工厂工作。
