flow 流动，the river flows into the sea. 河水汇入大海。

在这里，“go with the flow”中的flow作名词讲，本意是跟着水流走。那它的寓意是什么呢？

给大家举个例子，瞬间就会明白了。比如：

I'm going to eat Chinese food this night,but everyone sticks to eating Italian food.Without any way to persuade them, Ihave to go with the flow.  

今晚我打算吃中国菜，可是每个人都坚持吃意大利菜。没有办法说服他们，只好顺应众意。

所以，go with the flow 常用来指顺其自然、顺应潮流、随从大家的意见等等。

you swim in the direction that the water’s moving.it’s easy in the same way.a person who “goes with the flow”,easily fits into a given situation.

顺着水流的方向游，用同样的方法就会很容易。一个“顺应潮流”的人，很容易融入到特定的环境中。

This phrase can be used in many ways.

for example:

Sometimes you should just go with the flow and let the problems solve themselves.  

有时候你只要顺其自然，问题自然就会解决。

I like to go with the flow, see what happens.  

我喜欢顺其自然，看会怎样。

I go with the flow and just try to be myself.  

我随波逐流，但还是尽量的做自己。
