Khubilai 2015/08/20 温斯顿·丘吉尔在二战回忆录中说:“It was not till April, 1933, that the establishment of the hundred-thousand army was officially exceeded…” 如George Orwell书中的两句话: a) The new ration did not start till tomorrow and he had on b) Very likely the confessions had been rewritten and rewritten until the original facts and dates no longer had the smallest significance. 2. 5. Until可用于句首,如“Until you get that paper written, don't even think about going to the movies.” 可以说“We walked as far as the edge of the forest.”但不能说“We walked until the edge of the forest.” 7. 可以说“This car can seat up to eight people.”但不能说“This car can seat until eight people”。 8. 在from后面时,可用to替换till或until。对比: a) I usually work from ten to six. b) I usually work from ten till six. 9. Not until或not till等于not before。如“We won’t be seeing each other until Christmas.”等于“We won’t be seeing each other before Christmas.” 10. 如: a) Shop ’til you drop b) It ain’t over ’til it’s over 11. 某些固定用法,如“Till death do us part”。
