上述句子标黑部分即是被动语态。大家有没有从中找到规律呢？ 所谓被动语态是指句子的主语不是动作的发动者，而是动作的承接者，其谓语的形态发生相应改变的状态。 比如句1，prick 这个动作的发动者是 tiny sharp things ，而句子的主语 I（我） 是动作的承受者。 又比如句4，句子主语是 ladders，是动作 put 的承受者。 关于长句 （Gulliver narrator 语）
长难句，复合句的理解方法就是拆分句子，找到句子的主干。 比如句1，可以拆分成： (1) story seem unbelievable, disturbing (2) lands and peoples are not imaginary (3) I didn't make them up 句2可以拆分成： (1) ladders were put against my body (2) tiny people mounted the ladders (3) tiny people carring... 句3可以拆分成： (1) I found out...
