我们知道，很多副词是在形容词的尾巴上加副词后缀-ly，但是，有些副词和形容词形态是一样的，此时，这两种副词的意思差别很大，需要辨析。我们将分上下两期，介绍几组副词。

close与closely

副词close的意思是“接近地”，而副词closely的意思是“仔细地，密切地”。

比如：

He is sitting close to me.

他就坐我边上。

Watch him closely.

盯紧他。

free和freely

副词free是免费地，副词freely是自由地，自如地。

比如：

You can eat free in my restaurant whenever you like.

无论何时，你都可以免费来我店里吃饭。

You may speak freely.

你可以畅所欲言。

deep和deeply

副词deep是深地，副词deeply是深刻地，深入地，一个是物理意义上的“深”，一个是抽象意义上的“深”。

比如：

He pushed the stick deep into the mud.

他把棍子深深地插进泥里。

Even his father was deeply moved by the movie.

甚至他父亲都被这部电影深深地打动。

high和highly

和“深”相似，high是物理意义上的“高”，highly是抽象意义上的 “高”，高度地。

比如：

The plane was flying high.

这架飞机飞得很高。

I think highly of your opinion.

我认为你的看法有道理。（深度认同）
