Rely on excellent teachers, read Mahayana scriptures, study and contemplate the Dharma, and cultivate a practice that conforms with the teachings.

A: Afflictions are not caused by choices; they arise for lack of wisdom. Not being able to see where the road leads is because you are not standing high enough to see afar.
网友：请问法师，如何能提高智慧呢？ 学诚法师：凡事为自己考虑，只能生出机巧；放下自我私利，为更多人谋福利时，才能生出智慧。心量越大，智慧越深。 Q: Master, how do I gain more wisdom? A: Self-centric orientation will only lead to opportunistic practice. By giving up selfishness to benefit more people, wisdom will arise in your heart. The broader your mind is, the deeper the wisdom will be.

A: Intelligence means being alert and prompt in response, whereas wisdom means clearly knowing how to make the right decision. Pretty trick makes temporary profits, while great wisdom gains long-term benefits.
