curator(馆长)
a person who is in charge of the things in a museum, zoo, etc.
exhibits(展览) vs exhibition(展览会)
exhibit can be used as a verb, but exhibition can't
exhibits are shown at exhibitions but exhibitions are not shown at an exhibit
hands-on(亲自动手的)
The children's museum is full of hands-on displays.
inscriptions(铭文、碑文)
Some artifacts have inscriptions on them which give us some clues about their history or their use.
guided tour(有导游的游览)
Some people argue that guided tours are wasteful because you can google the infomation by yourself, but I happen to think that they are suitable for me because I am too lazy too look up all the information.
wander around(漫步、徘徊)
Wandering around every exhibit, I felt like I was transported through time. I could practically see imperial palace maids dancing and blacksmiths forging iron.
protocol(礼仪)
It is against museum protocol to touch any of the artifacts since the oil from one’s fingers can contribute to the deterioration of the objects.
