hype是“（传媒的）大肆宣传”的意思，通常表示贬义。media hype顾名思义，就表示“媒体炒作”。

知识拓展点：
hype someone up则表示“使某人兴奋”的意思，这个短语中的hype是“使兴奋；使激动”的意思。可不要错误地理解为“炒作某人”哦。

The audience were hyped up by his speech.
他的演讲让观众们兴奋起来。

这一文件的发布总是很有新闻价值。

worthy是“值得的，有价值的”意思，和news连在一起变为组合词newsworthy就表示“有新闻价值的”。

知识拓展点：
worthy of note这个词组可以直接从从字面来理解，即“值得注意”的意思。我们也可以用deserving来替换worthy，这个词组的意思保持不变。我们甚至可以用noteworthy这个单词来表示相同的意思，让句子更加简练。

The statistics in his thesis are worthy of note.
他论文中的统计数据值得注意。

Stories about star players transferring from one team to another usually dominate the headlines during European soccer's off-seasons.
欧洲足球休赛季期间，明星球员从一个队转会到另一个队的报道常常会占据报纸的头版头条。

dominate是“支配，主宰”的意思。headline则表示“新闻头条”。dominate the headlines即“占据新闻头条”。我们还可以再造个句子：

Wang Feng tries to dominate the headlines but often fails.
汪峰想占据新闻头条，但经常失败。

off-season在上面例句中表示“（体育项目的）休赛期”。除此之外，off-season还可以表示“（旅游的）淡季”。

It is usually cheaper to travel during off-seasons.
淡季旅游通常会更便宜。

Remember, silence can be misleading, so disclose all relevant information to your supplier and don‘t distort the truth.记住，沉默可能会有误导性，所以，向你的供方公开所有相关信息，不要歪曲事实。

distort可以表示“歪曲、曲解”的意思，distort the truth就表示“歪曲事实”。
