轻松搞懂构词法，记住单词不再难！

学习构词法基础知识也是非常有好处的，那就是它可以使我们能够轻松认识更多单词，以一种巧妙的方式扩大词汇量，短期内记住更多的单词。

英语中的构词法主要有三种，即转化法、合成法和派生法。

一. 合成法

由两个或更多的词合成一个词，有的用连词符号“-”连接，有的直接连写在一起，还有的由分开的两个词构成。

如：up-to-date, man-made, passerby, cowboy, eggplant, human rights, car park等。

二. 转化法

一个单词由一种词性转化为另一种或几种词性。如：

book n. 书→book vt. 预订

well adv. 表现得好；干得好→well adj. 身体好；气色好→well n. 井→well v. 涌出；喷出

三. 派生法

由一个词根加上前缀或后缀构成另一个词。

(1) 前缀

除少数前缀外，前缀一般只改变单词的意思，不改变词性。

① 常用的表示否定意义的前缀

dis-, il-, im-, in-, ir-, mis-, non-, un-等。如：disappear, illegal, impossible, irregular, misunderstand, unlock等。

② 常用的表示其他意义的前缀

a-(多构成表语形容词), anti- (反对；抵抗), auto- (自动), co- (共同), en- (使), inter- (互相), re- (再；又), sub- (下面的；次；小), tele- (远距离的；电视的；通过电话的)等。如：alive, antiwar, automobile, international, rewrite, subway, telesales等。

(2) 后缀

后缀通常会改变单词的词性，构成意思相近的其他词性，少数后缀还会改变词义。

① 常见的名词后缀

-er, -or, -ment, -tion, -ion, -ity, -ist, -hood, -ness。如：worker, advisor, arrangement, communication, invention, reality, tourist, childhood, kindness等。

② 常见的形容词后缀

-y, -ous, -ful, -ive, -ish, -able, -ible, -less, -en, -ant, -ent, -ary, -al。如：snowy, dangerous, successful, creative, foolish, comfortable, reducible, golden, assistant, dependent, imaginary, natural等。

③ 常见的副词后缀

-ly, -wards。如：happily, backwards等。

④ 构成数词的后缀

-teen (十几)，-ty (几十)，-th (构成序数词)。如：sixteen, thirty, fifth
