下面我们见一见这些老师: “老师的最大作用就是能参与学生的成长过程” Codi老师 | 哈佛教育学院硕士 大家好,我是Codi, 一名SFS老师。你问我在这个时代,一个老师主要的角色是什么? 我觉得不是提供内容,因为到处都有内容,可以上网看视频、读书,什么信息都能找到。老师的最大作用就是能参与学生成长的过程。好老师可以帮助他们培养能力和提高自信。 What does a teacher do these days? A teacher doesn’t give content – content exists on every platform, in anyway – you can watch videos online, you can read a book, you can get on the internet – you can do anything – but being able to be a part of that process, being with students, and helping build skill build confidence (中文翻译有删改,下同) 在我们老师的工作组中,我们会学如何培养学生的思维能力, 比如说如何让学生把他们正在学的知识,联想到其他的知识,在讨论中使用各种例子和证据。如果看学生越来越重视这些能力,开始主动的用这些能力,我特别高兴! As a team we work on these things like connection building. Using resources form the text to make an argument – seeing them pick up on that and realize we’re trying to influence them in that way – and seeing them purposefully do it, is really really cool! “不要只教学生内容, 还要重视培养思维技巧” Max老师 | 今年从哈佛教育学院毕业 大家好,我是Max,一名SFS老师。我当老师的最终目的是,让我的学生有独立自主的思考能力、有终身学习的精神。在上个学期教书的过程当中,很棒的是,有时候看这些概念落实在学生身上。 That’s ultimately my goal as a teacher, to have students who are self determined, self sufficient and feel that empowerment. IT was cool for me to see that there were moments where that was really coming to life 在上课过程中,我很喜欢的一点是,美国老师和中国学生不仅更了解了对方的文化,而且在上课小组里,我们会探究一个新的文化,就像三角形的第三个角。 And I love that not only is it us learning from each other, but we also have this 3rd piece to the triangle – where we’re doing so through an additional text from an additional culture.

And we’ve done various activities in class such as debates, role playing to really attempt to nuance our language ability – above and beyond that students are really learning about Mexican culture in a way that gives them a deeper understanding about what it means to live there, since none of my students have ever been to Mexico. 我认为在Students for Students这个项目里,我们非常重视师生关系,老师和学生建立起很强的联系,这是区别于其他在线教育平台的很大特点之一。 One thing I find unique about Students for Students is the fact that we really strive to build strong relationships between students and teachers – and so it kind of sets us apart from other language platforms in that I’m able to build a relationship with my students across the semester. “老师不是‘提供一切答案的人’” Murali老师 | 哈佛教育学院硕士,SFS课程设计 作为一个老师,最重要的是给孩子提供一个安全的环境,真实自然地培养他们的好奇心。所以我不把老师看做“提供一切答案的人”,而是跟学生一起在他的“好奇心之路”上探索的人。 As a teacher, the first and foremost thing would be to, provide a safe place for the children to actually nurture their curiosity. So I see a teacher not as someone who can provide all the answers, but as someone who can travel along with students, in their journey of curiosity. SFS项目教给孩子的不仅是学英语,还有如何通过英语阅读来探索不同的文化、不同的世界。 Students for Students is not just aiming at providing language skills, but also reading skills as a way of exploring different cultures and different worlds. “最重要的是建立老师和学生之间的纽带” Debbie老师 | 哈佛教育学院硕士,SFS课程设计 大家好,我是Debbie, 一名SFS课程设计师。我认为作为一个教育者,最重要的是建立老师和学生之间、学生和学生之间的纽带。因此我设计了一些机会让学生公开讨论、分享,说说自己不同的背景和文化。 The most important thing as an educator that I would strive to achieve, is creating strong relationships with students, and between students as well. So I think within the unit, just being able to openly talk about each others experiences or everyone’s different cultures 在交流过程中,每个人都有一些独特的想法和经历可以分享。我觉得这是很重要,能让学生变得开放包容,并且很享受这个分享的过程。 Everyone has something unique to bring to the conversation – I think that’s really important. Just being able to open up to each other but feel comfortable in doing so. 上面5位老师,都在StudentsforStudents 项目中授课或设计课程(3位老师负责上课,2位老师负责教研),参加最新一期的SFS项目,孩子就会遇到他们。SFS是一个社会企业,定期举办初高中英语线上教学班,上面5位老师,将用在哈佛教育学院学到的优秀教学方法、现代教育研究结果,跟线上英语教学结合起来。旨在完成以下三个任务,让更多学生受益: 1. 提高孩子的各个方面的英语水平 ,包括口语、阅读、写作和听力等。同时要让孩子更喜欢学英语,觉得学英文真的有意义,真的有用。 2. 要培养孩子的国际素养,也就是全球素养,让孩子更好的了解我们世界上不同的地方、不同的人和文化。 3. 促进教育和社会平等。这个企业有公益性质,扣除成本以后,所剩全部费用我们都会捐款给需要的孩子和组织。
