Abbreviations

English crochet terms are used throughout

ch = chain

st = stitch

sp = space

ch-sp = chain space

dc = double crochet

tr = treble

yrh = yarn round hook

RS = right side

WS = wrong side

Special abbreviations

FPtrs and BPtrs are raised sts and will appear at the front of work when viewing from the right side. The only difference between a FPtr (or BPtr) and a standard tr is the location you insert your hook to make the stitch, this location helps to raise the st. Have a practice, working FPtrs on the RS and BPtr on the WS.

FPtr (front post treble) – yrh, insert hook from the front of your work to the back, around the back of the indicated st and back through to the front, yrh and draw round the back of the post of the indicated st, (yrh and draw through 2 loops) twice.

BPtr (back post treble) – yrh, insert hook from the back of your work to the front, around the front of the indicated st and back through to the back, yrh and draw round the front of the post of the indicated st, (yrh and draw through 2 loops) twice.

5-tr cluster – (yrh, insert hook in st indicated, yrh and pull up loop, yrh and draw through 2 loops) 5 times, inserting the hook in the same st each time, yrh and draw through all 6 loops on hook.

R-FP cross – miss 2 sts, 1FPtr round next st, 1tr in each of 2 sts just missed, working behind FPtr.

L-FP cross – miss 1 st, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, 1FPtr round st just missed, working in front of trs.

R-BP cross – miss 2 sts, 1BPtr round next st, 1tr in each of 2 sts just missed, working in front of BPtr.

L-BP cross – miss 1 st, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, 1BPtr round st just missed, working behind trs.

Finishing

Line up the sections end to end with the fur section in the centre and both end sections with the foundation ch edge nearest the fur section. Sew together evenly, note that you may have to gather the fur section up a little if it is slightly wider than the end section.

To make the fringe, using the remaining Louisa Harding Luzia yarn, cut lengths approx 6 cm long. Knot these lengths evenly along each end of the scarf. Trim fringe to about 2cm long.
