1.melt:Melt and thaw imply reducing a solid substance to a liquid state. 2.To melt is to bring a solid to a liquid condition by the agency of heat: to melt butter.Snow melts 3.thaw:(of ice, snow, or another frozen substance, such as food) become liquid or soft as a result of warming. 4.thaw:We thaw (frozen food) before cooking it. 不要“困惑”于melt和thaw都是reducing a solid substance to a liquid state,to bring a solid to a liquid condition, become liquid or soft as a result of warming的“那到底区别何在?” So we can say Butter melts or thaw(符reducing a solid substance to a liquid state, bring a solid to a liquid condition, become liquid or soft as a result of warming)的“条件。So we can also say Ice and snow mets or thaws”(条件同理) BUT...... We ONLY say Frozen food,or frozen meat thaws before we cook it. So,butter melts or thaws.Ice or snow melts or thaws. But frozen chicken(即frozen food)只能thaws,不能melts. Frozen dumplings(frozen food)只说thaws,不说melts(当然,melts是化水,不是“解冻”了,就看你表达什么)。 |
