The Penitence of St. Jerome,1502 腓特烈三世死后大·卢卡斯·克拉纳赫继续为约翰及约翰·腓特烈一世服务。1530年他的2个儿子加入他的画室充当助手。1547年约翰·腓特烈一世兵败被俘，大·卢卡斯·克拉纳赫也一同先被押解到奥格斯堡，然后是因斯布鲁克。其间他仍然持续为大公及其亲友作画并在奥格斯堡结识了提香。2年后随大公迁往魏玛的新府邸。1553年10月16日他在魏玛亡故于女儿家中。
