定冠词的用法，在高考中出现的频率是比较高的。为了帮助同学更好掌握定冠词的用法，现在现我总结一下定冠词的用法： 1．特指 eg: We must take action to prevent the spread of H7N9. 2．说话双方都知道。 例如： Tom, please close the door. 3．上文提到过。这个用法简单，我就不举例了。 4．表类别： eg: The biggest whale in the world, the blue whale, is in danger of dying out now. 强调与其他类别的区别 5．独一无二的事物 注: 当有修饰语时用a 6．方位名词之前 eg: Turn to the left, and you will find the cinema. in/on/to the east 方位副词不用the eg: East of the city stands a tower. = in the east 7．表示一类人the blind/rich/poor/deaf 8．西洋乐器前（中国传统乐器，往往用拼音构成零冠词） play erhu 9．发明物前 eg: The compass was invented by Chinese. Bell is considered to have invented the telephone in 1876. 10．序数词和最高级前 eg: The earliest coins in the world were used in China. You'll find the dictionary a most useful tool when studying English. 12. the＋姓氏S表示一家人 eg: The Smiths went on an around-the-world trip. The film directed in HongKong was popular in the 1990s/in the 1990's. 13．用在世纪或逢十的复数年代前或朝代。 This event happened in the Tang Dynasty/the 2010s. 14．身体部位用the He hit me by the head. 15．在单位名词前加定冠词 eg: As a rule, domestic servants doing odd work are paid by the hour. by the dozen/kilo , by weight 16．江河湖海等、海湾、海峡、沙漠 the Yangtze River the Atlantic Ocean the English Channel the Tiwan Straits the Sahara Desert 17．由普通名词构成的专有n. the United Nations (U.
