在我们的汉语中，表达一个意思的词有很多，在英语中其实也是这样，同一个意思可以有很多表达方法。但是不同于汉语的是，这些不同的表达方法是有一些用法上面的区别的。例如'many, much, lots of, a lot of, a good/great many, a good/great many of, a large amount of, large amounts of 等等'都表示'许多'，那么它们用法上的区别是什么呢? many 后接可数名词复数；还可以做不定代词，代表可数名词复数。 例句： As we go about our lives, manyof our decisions affect not only ourselves but other people as well. 在我们人生的旅途中，我们的许多决策不仅影响我们自己，而且还影响其他人。 Manyanimals can harm me, but I do not harm them. 许多动物可能会伤害我，但我不伤害它们。 much 后接不可数名词；还可以做不定代词，代表不可数名词；还可以用在形容词和副词比较级前，表达强烈的对比。 例句： I have muchhomework to do this evening. 今天晚上我有许多家庭作业要做。 You can have much in common with them. 你可以与他们有许多共同之处。 If everyone makes a contribution to protecting the environment, the world will become muchmore beautiful. 如果每个人都为保护环境做出贡献，那么世界将变得更加美丽。 a lot of 在肯定句中非正式场合使用。既可以用在可数名词复数前，也可用在不可数名词前。 例句： Not that many people have a lot of photos of themselves out there on the open Web. 并不是有很多人会把许多自己的照片放在完全开放的公众网络上。 I am a rich girl, because I have a lot of treasure. 我是一个富有的女孩，因为我拥有着许多的财富。 lots of 在肯定句中非正式场合使用。既可以用在可数名词复数前，也可用在不可数名词前。用法和a lot of 一样。 例句： He gave uslots ofsuggestions on how to learn English well. 他给我们提出了许多关于如何学好英语的建议。 In my family, there islots of happiness around me. I love my family! 在我的家里，有很多快乐围绕着我。我爱我的家人！ a good/great many 后面直接跟可数名词复数。 例句： l've known her for a great many years. 我认识她好多好多年了。 Shoe shops exert a peculiar fascination on a great manyladies. 鞋店对于很多女士来讲具有一种很特殊的魅力。 a good/great many of 后面必须接限定词，如定冠词、名词所有格、形容词性物主代词、指示代词等，然后再跟复数名词；a great/great many of后面也可以直接跟人称代词宾格形式，而且一般不说a good/great many of people。 例句: A great/good many of his books are on natural sciences. 他的许多书是关于自然科学的。 A great/good many of them couldn't find work. 他们中的许多人找不到工作。 a large amount of/ large amounts of a large amount of后面跟不可数名词，谓语动词用单数； large amounts of后面跟不可数名词，谓语动词用复数。 例句： She spent a large amount ofmoney yesterday. 她昨天花了一大笔钱。 Large amounts of money were spent on the bridge. 在这座桥上花了大量资金。 a large number of/large numbers of 后面跟可数名词复数或者是集合名词，谓语动词用复数形式。 例句： There area large number of people in the station. 车站里有许多人。 Every summer,large numbers oftourists crowd the beaches in Hawaii. 每年夏天，大量的观光客涌进夏威夷的海滩。 |
